>> Arizona Muse and Freja Beha Erichsen inspired rumors of a romantic relationship during the couture shows last month, and over the past few months, they have been captured embracing by Terry Richardson and featured together in two different Karl Lagerfeld-lensed editorials. Now, they pair up again for Mario Testino and Vogue UK's September 2011 issue in a shoot inspired by the Dutch Masters which Alexandra Shulman says "earns its place among Vogue classics." Beha Erichsen also serves as the magazine's September 2011 cover girl.

Grace Coddington on Why She Once Quit While Working Under Anna Wintour

>> The skeleton details of Grace Coddington's CV are pretty well-established at this point: a long and lustrous tenure as Vogue creative director was achieved after a terrible car accident turned her modeling career into that of a stylist and fashion editor. But a profile of Coddington in The Economist's quarterly supplement More Intelligent Life - by one of Coddington's former assistants - gives us a few less-reported details.

Coddington says of her mentor, the photographer Norman Parkinson, in the '70s: “He taught me the art of travelling, which means never closing your eyes in case you miss something. We’d get up at five and drive round on recces to see what inspired us. The approach is so different now. Photographers don’t look out the window: they want to see a location book, and everything is done on computers.”

She turns 70 in April, and admits that she, too, has changed her approach: “I got really sick last time in Paris [during Fashion Week], and I was on antibiotics for two months. I push my body too hard, and do have to stop myself now from jumping on a plane. It used to be me who got sent to Russia and China while the older editors stayed behind, but I’m one of those older ones now.”

A few more things we learned:

She's lived with Didier Malige since the '80s, but she's also been married twice: The first time was in 1969 to Michael Chow, the owner of the Mr Chow restaurant chain. It lasted six months ("I was useless at being a restaurateur’s wife - much too shy to table-hop," Coddington says). And the second time was in 1976 to a "rangy, rock'n'roll" photographer, Willie Christie, who she mentored at British Vogue. They divorced in 1980 because, Coddington says, “It’s difficult to be employed by your wife.” In between the two marriages she dated Duc, a young, Paris-based Vietnamese photographer, with whom she was in love before, during, and after her first marriage.

Coddington - known for her long, red hair - was once a blonde: In 1980, after her second divorce, Coddington turned herself into "a business-suited, short-haired blonde - what she calls a 'Calvin person.'"

She once quit while working for Anna Wintour: Coddington had been at British Vogue since 1968, but after Anna Wintour joined as editor-in-chief in March 1986, Coddington resigned in December of that year: “Anna was much more into ‘sexy’ than I was.” She rejoined Wintour at Vogue two years later because she missed working at magazines (she had been working as Calvin Klein design director in the interim: "Excitement on 7th Avenue ends with the show. The next day it’s all marketing.").

Kate Middleton Consulted Fashion Editors and Stylists Before Choosing Her Wedding Dress Designer

>> Over the weekend, rumors popped up that Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton might be Kate Middleton's wedding dress designer of choice - and apparently lots of TV crews are on the scene at the McQueen show today, following up on the story.

Middleton is not known for her envelope-pushing fashion choices, but now, the Telegraph UK is reporting that shortly after Middleton announced her engagement last year, Buckingham Palace asked stylists and editors to name their "top choice" for the wedding dress designer. Among those approached, apparently, was British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, who happened to recommend McQueen.

Arizona Muse - The Next Big American Model in the Making? Anna Wintour Approves

>> Arizona Muse's star has been rising at rocket speed - in the past month alone, her Spring 2011 Prada and Yves Saint Laurent ads have come out, she's been on the January 2011 cover of Vogue Italia with Freja Beha Erichsen, and had only-girl spreads in Vogue UK February 2011 and Vogue China February 2011. Now, Anna Wintour is touting Muse in her February 2011 editors' letter as "the breakout star at the Spring 2011 shows last Fall," adding: "When I look at Arizona, I see shades of Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova, but most of all, I see her, a gorgeous, smart grown-up. And how could anyone resist someone with that name?" If Muse keeps this up, she, Lindsey Wixson, and Karlie Kloss could be bringing American models back in a big way. Kate Moss Covers Her 30th Issue of British Vogue, Lands Balmain Campaign

British Vogue covers featuring Kate Moss-September 2010 and March 1993

The September issue of British Vogue features Kate Moss for the sixth time in her career and marks Moss' 30th cover for the magazine. Her first British Vogue cover (above right) was shot in 1993 by Corinne Day. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, Moss' latest issue promises a look at fall trends as style by Kate herself, and the cover look is Burberry Prorsum. Also recently released, Moss' fall 2010 Balmain campaign (below), in which she appears in head-to-toe leather as captured by Inez & Vinoodh.

Erdem Moralioglu Announced the Inaugural British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Winner

>> Emerging London talent is finally getting its due. Just last week, Anna Wintour threw a party in New York for 20 up-and-coming London talents, and now this morning, Erdem Moralioglu was named the inaugural British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner.

Moralioglu's award, much like its US counterpart from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, includes prize money ringing in at £200,000 (approx. $303,000) and access to high-profile mentors for the next year to help him create a global brand. He beat out fellow nominees including Christopher Kane, Angel Jackson, Clements Ribeiro, Patrick Grant of E. Tautz, Marios Schwab, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Richard Nicoll.

Lara Stone Went to Rehab for Alcoholism Earlier This Year

>> Lara Stone was photographed by Mario Testino for the December 2009 cover of Vogue UK - all in a day's work for the frequent cover girl - but it's inside the magazine that she really gets down to business, revealing for the first time publicly that she spent four weeks earlier this year in rehab. "I am a complete alcoholic. It used to be so easy to say to someone, 'Get me a bottle of vodka,' and they'd run and get it. Going to rehab was the best decision I ever made. The last six months have been the best of my life." A week after she left rehab, she was back in the game, attending the Costume Institute Gala in early May with Alexander Wang. "I sat there all night in complete shock. I didn't say a word."

She's been doing the model rounds for ten years, since she was 15, but says that even back when she was 16 and in Paris, drugs weren't a problem. "I'd already tried everything in Holland. Anyway, I never wanted to be that model on drugs, the sort who gives head for a line of coke."

The British Fashion Council and British Vogue have teamed up for the new BFC Vogue Design Fashion Fund, which will provide one British-based designer with £200,000 (approx. $328,000) and a year's worth of mentoring support, much like its American counterpart. Katie Grand Rolls Her Eyes at the Prospect of Replacing Alexandra Shulman at British Vogue

>> The second edition of LOVE comes out next week, and even though she just recently got married, editor-in-chief Katie Grand didn't have time for a honeymoon because she had to finish the issue. Katie is somewhat the antithesis of Anna Wintour in the so-called glamorous world of fashion: she doesn't feel the need to have every hair in place and she doesn't mandate high heels, like Vogue supposedly does.

“I’m really practical,” she recently told the Times UK. “I go to the gym most mornings and I walk everywhere, so that’s why I wear flat shoes and no make-up. It’s not vanity; it’s laziness. I didn’t wear make-up on my wedding day because I didn’t want mascara running down my face if I cried.” Also missing from the wedding? The traditional white dress. “I wore an Azzedine Alaïa brown snakeskin dress, which he tortured me for about two months to get into, but at least it’s something I can wear again. I didn’t want some stupid white dress; it seems like such a waste."

Her Vogue UK cover came out last week, and now comes the news that she has the Vogue Russia cover as well, although no preview is available yet. The take-away message?
