Anouck Lepere, Jefferson Hack Are No Longer Together

>> Anouck Lepere and Jefferson Hack, who began dating in 2005 and became engaged over chocolate pudding in Paris a year later, are no longer a couple. The pair has not appeared publicly together in quite some time - they were last photographed in December of last year. Hack, 40, confirms that he is single to ES magazine, and was reportedly spotted leaving an after-party at London's W Hotel earlier this month with Scarlett Johansson. Lepere, 32, was meanwhile spotted hanging out with Jim Carrey earlier this year. We take a look back at the couple that was.

Gareth Pugh Didn't Sell A Piece of Clothing Until His Fourth or Fifth Show

>> Gareth Pugh has come a long way from living in a squat house in 2005. The road hasn't been an easy one, however, he tells Vice in its new Style Issue: "We didn’t sell anything from the poodle or gimp shows - nothing until the fourth or fifth show. My first show was such a last-minute thing. I was only really thinking about the show and not selling stuff afterward. But once you start showing, you’re on the treadmill and have to carry on." Even a couple of years ago, he says, "There was a point, right before a show, when I barely had enough money to get my team over to Paris."

But now, Pugh is definitely starting to consider the financial aspect of his brand (and perhaps explains why he leans toward short films in place of runway shows): "At the moment I feel very much between a rock and a hard place. People expect an amazing show, but in order to do that in Paris you have to sell a lot of clothes, which maybe means people have to be able to imagine the clothes on hangers."

Lara Stone, David Walliams Wed Over Weekend, to Honeymoon in Paris

>> Yesterday, after a whirlwind romance and engagement, 26-year-old Lara Stone and 38-year-old British comedian David Walliams were married in a traditional, '40s-themed ceremony at Claridge's Hotel in London. The bride wore a $44,000 custom long corseted dress in ivory silk satin designed by Riccardo Tisci, with lace incrustations, gold chain-trimmed straps, and a matching silk crepeline cape.

Afterwards, the newlyweds and their 200 guests, including Tom Ford, Mario Testino, Anouck Lepere, Lily Donaldson, and Jefferson Hack enjoyed lobster, sea bass, and Primrose Bakery cupcakes in the hotel's ballroom, surrounded by $15,000 worth of white roses. Following the meal, the crowd decamped for the evening reception at Shoreditch House, for which Stone changed into a custom Givenchy gold minidress. The wedding was reportedly largely dry at the request of Stone, a recovering alcoholic - and the toasts were performed with popcorn in place of champagne.

Stone and Walliams are said to be honeymooning in Paris.

Balenciaga Aims to Go Thorougly Modern for Spring 2010

>> For the second season in a row, Balenciaga showed at the Hotel Crillon - word is residents forced them to move from their previous location - and Nicolas Ghesquiere took his eye "back to the start again," as the show's soundtrack went, returning to his sporty, skinny pants roots. The leggings, vests, and dresses were collages of contrasting materials - "like toys," the designer noted - and his goal was to create an entirely modern collection, sans references to the past.

In his effort to think differently, Ghesquiere told the Wall Street Journal, he mused: “There are cocktail dresses everywhere. I am asking, who are these women who go to cocktails all the time?’’ He also had his runway shoe samples made it a number of different sizes (39-41) rather than the standard 39, to help prevent runway stumbles.

Anouck Lepere and Lily Cole were both front row this morning, but the big model surprise was Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, who some see as Balenciaga's answer to Givenchy casting Adriana Lima last season.

Maison Michel Enlists Karl Lagerfeld and Crew for Fall 2009 Lookbook

The result is a veritable list of Chanel favorites - Karl's muse Lady Amanda Harlech, Chanel face Heidi Mount, Karl's male model favorite of the moment Baptiste Giabiconi - and plenty of other models including Lara Stone, Angela Lindvall, Sasha Pivovarova, Erin Wasson, plus surprise appearances by Olivier Theyskens and Crahay herself, all donning the latest in Maison Michel's headgear.

Venice Biennale Overflowing with Fashion Figures and Their Families

>> Where art goes, fashion is soon to follow, and with the contemporary arts Biennale going on in Venice right now, there are plenty of designers, editors, and even models in town. On Wednesday, Olympia Scarry’s installation brought out Patrick Demarchelier, Vogue Russia's Aliona Doletskaya, and POP's Dasha Zhukova, as well as Justin Portman and Natalia Vodianova, the latter whose face was reflected in a luminated, aged sketch on display called Dorian Gray, by artist Dasha Fursey.

Naomi Campbell and boyfriend Vladislav Doronin stopped by a lunch for the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, and popped up again yesterday at the opening of Francois Pinault's new museum, the Punta della Dogana. Stella McCartney was there with husband Alasdhair Willis to support her financier in his new endeavor, as were Franca Sozzani and Marc Jacobs, always the fan of contemporary art, who apparently kept exclaiming, "This place rocks."

Meanwhile, down the river, Angela Missoni held her annual party on boyfriend Bruno Ragazzi's yacht. It was quite the family and friends affair: Angela's daughters Margherita and Teresa, plus son Francesco were all mingling, Franca Sozzani brought son Francesco Carrozzini, and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld arrived with Carine Roitfeld, who neglected to follow the rest in taking her lace-up shoes off: "It would just take too long to undo them." Bee Shaffer was sans Anna Wintour, but Jefferson Hack brought fiancee Anouck Lepere.

Even those who aren't in Venice in person are there in spirit - Mario Testino sent one of his art consultants to scout the exhibition.

Alber Elbaz Brings Out His Jokes for London Lanvin Opening

>> In honor of Lanvin's first London store, Alber Elbaz - who is apparently on a post-show, protein-only diet - flew in to give a guided tour of his Spring 2009 collection. During the day, there was a "girls only" policy, but at night, the ladies - Alexandra Shulman, Yasmin Le Bon, Anouck Lepere - were joined by the menfolk - Jefferson Hack, Juergen Teller, Jonathan Newhouse. Microphone in hand, Elbaz had the audience "in stitches," according to WWD, as he cracked jokes while presenting: “I dress women. I don’t undress them - unfortunately. My mother would be happy if I did.”

As for his denim collaboration with Acne: “It’s so nice when Acne tells me, ‘No problem, we can do that.’ I live in Paris, where you ask a cab driver to take you somewhere and he says ‘No.’” When he introduced Anna de Rijk, hot off the runway, as his bride, he joked on his decision to carry wedding dress in the store: “I have friends - Liz Taylor types - who are on their third and fourth weddings. They tell me they need a different dress for each one.” And to wrap it up, a little comment on what women want: “Next to chocolate or a rose, I think the only thing that can make a woman happy is maybe a pink dress.”

Not Just Another Party for Another Magazine

>> Before jetting off to Milan, London fashion's finest gathered for a dinner last night at the Double Club, in honor of Another Magazine's newest issue featuring Tilda Swinton. Kate Moss, freshly returned from a safari in South Africa, made her first and only London Fashion Week appearance, dropping in with Jamie Hince for Jefferson Hack's Congolese family-style dinner. Lily Cole, who sat front row at Vivienne Westwood Red Label earlier this week and then walked in the Qasimi show before heading back to Cambridge, popped back into town for the party, where Peaches performed her Karoake favorites while Kate, Tilda Swinton, and Daphne Guiness all sang along.

Kate Moss and Jefferson Hack Bring Their Significant Others Out for a Little Chess

>> They made a public appearance together on Friday and again yesterday, so I think it's safe to say that Jamie Hince and Kate Moss are back together - especially since Jamie had his arm around Kate. The two looked like everything was peaches and cream, smiling as they left the launch of Tracey Emin's new Travelling Chess exhibition at RS&A Gallery in East London. Lila Grace was nowhere to be seen, but she was all that was keeping it from being a Moss-Hack family affair: Jefferson Hack and his fiancee Anouck Lepere - fresh from walking Paris Fashion Week - were sitting on the steps outside the opening, chatting and sipping tea.

Jefferson Hack, Anouck Lepere Spin Records Right Round

>> A couple that plays together, stays together, and for Anouck Lepere and Jefferson Hack, it looks like that means playing records. The engaged duo were snapped DJing together at the Albion Gallery Summer Party in London last night; This is Jefferson's second DJing gig for the week — on Wednesday he participated in Nick Knight's Fashion DJs event.

The two look like they're having a good time, keeping things light . . . unlike the August 2008 issue of Dazed & Confused, with its "Dark Magick" theme and kinky cover editorial.
