Angela Lindvall Confirmed to Host Project Runway All Stars

>> Speculation that arose last week has been confirmed: Angela Lindvall - not Heidi Klum - will host Lifetime's upcoming Project Runway All Stars spinoff. "Here I am in New York City! I landed a huge opportunity that will have me here for a month," Lindvall wrote last month on her blog. "Have to keep it top secret for now."

In place of Project Runway judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, Isaac Mizrahi and Marchesa's Georgina Chapman (who also happens to be married to the show's executive producer Harvey Weinstein) will join Lindvall on the All Stars judging panel. The show will premiere later this year on Lifetime.

And speaking of models heading to television, Carolyn Murphy just noted that she's currently "working on a TV show."

>> Heidi Klum has been Project Runway's host from the start, but as the show prepares for Project Runway All-Stars - an upcoming eight-episode spin-off series bringing back some of the show's alumni to compete against one another - Klum will not be pulling double hosting duties. According to a Lifetime spokesperson, All-Stars "is a completely separate show, with a separate host and a separate set of judges."

So who will be stepping in to host the spin-off? Originally, it was thought that Miranda Kerr might be a candidate, after she was spotted meeting with Project Runway executive producer Harvey Weinstein last week. But it sounds like Kerr is just in talks to be an All-Stars guest judge. Now, rumors have pointed in another direction: Modelinia reports hearing that Angela Lindvall has signed on as host. Lindvall has done TV - aside from walking in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - in the past: she co-starred in the green makeover series Alter Eco back in 2008.

John Galliano Takes Dior to the '50s for Spring 2011 Couture

>> John Galliano stuck to his staples for Spring 2011 Christian Dior couture - a retro silhouette, this time inspired by illustrator Rene Gruau, and perennial Dior face Karlie Kloss opening, introduced to the audience with a rotation of the set. Mario Testino, Stella Tennant, Lou Doillon, Pedro Almodovar, Patrick Demarchelier, and Azzedine Alaia were all front row to take in the show, and Galliano took his bow in a cropped black wig and red-striped black tuxedo pants. Backstage, Martha Streck Tweeted, the models - including Iekeliene Stange and Angela Lindvall, who both made appearances - had to pose for Demarchelier afterwards.

Models and Their Men Get In Front of the Camera for Vogue's February 2011 Issue

>> In anticipation of Valentine's Day, Vogue had Patrick Demarchelier capture six models and their men for the February 2011 issue.

Among those featured: the newly affianced models Anja Rubik and Sasha Knezevic, who went to Central Park on their first official date. According to Rubik: "We actually came wearing identical Rag & Bone shirts and Helmut Lang jeans." There's Coco Rocha and her husband, James Conran, who are celebrating their first Valentine's Day married by going to see Prince - his favorite musician - in concert; and Angela Lindvall and Mark Wystrach, an actor and co-founder of People's Shoe (a line of eco-friendly footwear). They had their first date two years ago, Lindvall says - "We took his Volkswagen, went surfing, ate shrimp burritos" - and now reside together on seven acres in Los Angeles's Topanga Canyon, where they've planted an organic garden and 60 fruit trees.

Alessandra Ambrosio and her fiance, Jamie Mazur, who owns a denim company, met at a mutual friend's wedding in Rio de Janeiro. But they didn't start dating until two years later, when they ran into each other at Coachella. Ambrosio says of Mazur: "I always have new jeans, and because he has to follow trends, I get the best gifts - like Louboutins and vintage sunglasses. One Valentine's Day, he learned all my favorite Pearl Jam songs and serenaded me."

And rounding out the bunch, there's Aminata Niaria, who met Laurence Dennis (he works at British Embassy in Paris) at a Halloween party he hosted five years ago. He was a mummy, she was Catwoman. And models Bonnie Chen and Rock Ji, who met backstage two years ago at Beijing fashion show. Soon after, he surprised her by showing up at the University of Pennsylvania campus, where she was majoring in psychology.

Roberto Cavalli Admits He's Not the Party Animal He Used to Be at His $2 Million 40th Anniversary Bash

>> Roberto Cavalli reportedly spent about $2 million on his 40th anniversary bash held last night at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris - and that doesn't include the budget allotted to bringing Natalia Vodianova (and perhaps some of the other 1,200 attendees) to the party. As the New York Times's Eric Wilson wrote: "It was one of those fashion parties that felt like another era, when it was possible to enjoy such extravagance without wondering how a designer could possibly be selling enough animal-printed evening gowns and exuberantly distressed denim to afford it all."

Kylie Minogue performed, the walls were lined with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott's images of models in Cavalli, and Heidi Klum introduced the designer as a four-tier, 10-foot birthday cake covered in sparklers was wheeled onto the stage. But even through all that, Cavalli, almost 70, admitted he's not the party animal he used to be: “Don’t say it, don’t say it, please, because the people should still dream with me,” he said. “The young should think that, instead of sparkling water, I drink Krug, or that I still smoke 10 Cuban cigars every day.”

Fashion's Night Out's Fashion Show Featured a Dancing Gisele, a Rapping Pharrell, and a Whole Lot of Designer Duds

>> The audience at tonight's Fashion's Night Out fashion show wasn't limited to the 1,500 ticket-holders - crowds gathered behind police barricades across the street from the Lincoln Center Plaza for a glimpse of New York City's largest fashion show. Those who were lucky enough to nab tickets to the show were treated to a concentric-circled runway setup, with rows no more than two deep. Not only that, but among the audience was a large smattering of designers - Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg, Jenna Lyons, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Vera Wang, Francisco Costa, and Donna Karan among them; models - Lauren Hutton, Bar Rafaeli, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann; and other industry figures, including Anna Wintour, with favorites Blake Lively and Roger Federer next to her, and Si Newhouse himself. Bee Shaffer arrived 45 minutes early to the event, holding hands with boyfriend Jake Hurwitz.

Anna Wintour's fears that the show, scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, would begin late were unmerited - it started on the dot with Alicia Keys's "Empire State of Mind" playing on the loudspeaker as spotlights searched the audience and the fountain in the center of the setup rose and then fell.

As the audience looked for Gisele Bundchen, set to open the show's 171 looks, a Fashion's Night Out doubledecker bus pulled up next to the Plaza, carrying Bundchen, Angela Lindvall, Karolina Kurkova, Coco Rocha, Lily Donaldson, Lara Stone, Jourdan Dunn, Caroline Trentini, Sasha Pivovarova, Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman, and Karlie Kloss, each dressed in a Fashion's Night Out tee paired with a long ballgown skirt and heels. The twelve models dismounted the bus one by one, forming a line in front of the Plaza steps as the rest of the 150 model cast filled in behind them.

Gisele leading the way, the twelve openers made their way around the fountain, soon followed by groups of models clipping by showcasing "Fifties Flair," "Tartan Twist," "Rock Chic," "Go Global," and "Jazz-Age Cool." Each group wormed their way around the circular runway, the models coming in quick succession, highly choreographed and sometimes stopping and turning. A few were suffering from their heels by the end - Rose Cordero and Heidi Mount among them - and those in the "Weekend Wrap-Up" group, all swathed in capes and jackets, had sweat rolling from their temples after all the parading, thanks to the humid Indian Summer air.

Pharrell Williams popped up on the center fountain to close the extravaganza in a surprise performance, and Gisele and the rest of the openers paraded and danced back to the bus, this time in full-on designer gowns, with Naomi Campbell in the finale spot. As Pharrell joined them, he encouraged the audience - ticketed and not - to shop New York, because after all, that was the whole point of this 15-minute shindig. So will it work?

Jenny Packham is headed stateside; the British designer will show at NYFW this fall.

More changes at Vogue. After 12 years, Patrick O'Connell, Vogue's director of communications, is leaving the magazine. Fashion writer Florence Kane also reportedly resigned to become senior editor at C Magazine.

Designers like J Mendel, Oscar de la Renta, and Billy Reid are using nutria fur, which comes from the bayou water rat in Louisiana. Yves Saint Laruent used the skin for fur hats in the '60s.

Naomi Campbell Commemorates Alexander McQueen, Agyness Deyn Falls Twice at Fashion for Relief

>> Now we know why Naomi Campbell was spotted going into the shuttered Alexander McQueen store the same day the designer's death was announced: she was pulling together a tribute for the finale of her Fashion For Relief runway show benefiting Haiti. A veiled Daphne Guinness in catsuit in heelless shoes came first, followed by Heidi Mount, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Karen Elson, Angela Lindvall, Helena Christensen, and Naomi, all in Alexander McQueen - video here. Campbell walked backstage afterwards with tears in her eyes, holding Lindvall's hand.

On a lighter note, the season's first major model fall came at the same show, courtesy of Agyness Deyn, who toppled not once but twice in her Burberry heels. The audience cheered her on as she curtsied each time; she then took the shoes off on her way back down the runway. Afterwards, she Tweeted: "1st show of fashion week! Took a tumble! Got up! Fell again. Should have stayed down the 1st time. Twice! WTF! Ouch my knees!"
