>> Spring 2010 brings a number of firsts for Burberry: the first time Christopher Bailey has shown under the label in London instead of Milan and the first time the show was streamed live on the Internet — the video can be seen here. It was a big bash for the likes of London — a guest list of 1,500 and a tent venue erected on the grounds of the Chelsea College of Art & Design — bringing front row faces like Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen, brand face Emma Watson, plus Mario Testino, Jacquetta Wheeler, Bruce Weber, and Agyness Deyn.
When the show was ready to start this evening, the venue — with Burberry check-embossed walls — went dark, and the Burberry logo lit up the runway until the stream of models, wearing pale-colored or metallic knotted, draped, and twisted variations on the classic trench and miniskirt, commenced. A few furs were even thrown in, despite the Spring season. At the end, in celebration of the quintessential British brand's return to home turf, a rain of silver confetti streamed down.

>> Alexander Wang may have changed up his collection's look for Spring 2010, but he's not about to lose his street cred. He partnered with Katie Grand and LOVE, rented out a Mobil gas station last night, and brought a crowd — which included Trish Goff, Daphne Guinness, L'Wren Scott, Erin Wasson, Vanessa Traina, plus fellow designers Esteban Cortazar and Gareth Pugh.
Despite the fact that the station's gas tanks were drained yesterday afternoon and the venue drenched with nonflammable suds, cigarettes were verboten; nicotine-dependent guests were constantly reminded with "Please stop smoking!" announcements. To take their minds off those forbidden cigarette, there were performances by both Courtney Love, who told the audience she received (ironically) a carton of cigarettes and a pair of shoes to play, and Santigold; plus guests had a free run of anything in the station's convenience store: Bee Shaffer took advantage of the candy aisle.
Alexander, for his part, seemed to be enjoying himself — he chatted up Lily Donaldson and Frankie Rayder, got down with Hanne Gaby Odiele (below), and jumped onstage and into Courtney Love's arms during her performance.

>> We May Have a New It Brit Girl On Our Hands —There's a ruckus over Londonside because Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe, and Alice Dellal just switched agencies from Select to NEXT; their booker at Select, Sarah Leon (who is their close friend and also started the careers of Alexa Chung, Lily Donaldson, and Agyness Deyn), also left and may be starting up her own agency. While that last part is speculation, one thing is for sure — Leon's next protegee is Tali Lennox, daughter of Annie Lennox, who we all may be seeing more of very soon, judging by her past success. >> Agyness Deyn Is Not Retiring From Modeling —Despite rumors that she's leaving modeling for acting, Agyness Deyn's agent Louie Chaban says it's not so: “She’s focusing more on an acting career. But she loves what she does. She has no plans to stop.” A recent interview with the NY Times had to be scheduled around a movie she was shooting in Europe, but Agyness refuses to answer any questions about her music or film projects, only indicating that she's looking into "branching out" from modeling “into stuff that really pushes the boundaries, raises the bar . . . like, puts you out of your comfort zone." >> As a followup to the iconic commercial with Agyness Deyn for his Ma Dame fragrance, Jean Paul Gaultier got together with Parisian DJ and producer Martin Solveig — who he met at an exhibition last year — to make a music video for Solveig's song, "Boys & Girls." The video, which features Solveig and Martina Sorbara from Canadian group Dragonette wearing the same outfit Agyness did, was filmed in Jean Paul Gaultier's couture house on rue Saint-Martin in Paris. Gaultier makes a cameo at the beginning.

>> THE MODELIZER —Agyness Deyn debuted a new haircut on the CFDA Awards red carpet last night, but that may not be the only change in store: Supposedly, she's quitting modelling and moving back to the UK to get involved in acting — particularly British independent films. She's also moved on from recent flame Alex Greenwald, setting her sights on another musician: The Last Shadow Puppets' Miles Kane. [Daily Mirror]

>> THE MODELIZER — Agyness Deyn has a new Uniqlo campaign and odd commercial that goes with it — think her and Gabriel Aubry running and jumping in slow motion — which stylist Nicola Formichetti just posted, and now she's got an entire song dedicated to her by London-based DJ Jodie Harsh and NYC-based DJ Larry Tee. The new single, "Agyness Deyn" — listen here — pays homage to her best friend Henry Holland's iconic t-shirts with a chorus of "Flick your bean for Agyness Deyn," and boasts lyrics like: "Even her assistant has an assistant / During fashion week . . . she has five." >> For those who saw the pictures of Agyness Deyn shooting a campaign with Gabriel Aubry last month in a bright pink getup and wondered what it was for, here's your answer: she just landed Uniqlo's sure-to-be lucrative high Summer sports campaign, which breaks June 1 stateside and was photographed by Daniel Jackson and styled by Nicola Formichetti.
The model has been keeping a notably low profile compared to in the past — aside from best friend Henry Holland recently calling out an Agyness impostor on Twitter — "THIS IS FAKE PEOPLE!!! AGGY DOES KNOW HOW TO OPERATE A COMPUTER AND MOST CERTAINLY DOES NOT EAT BREAKFAST!" — and seems to be focused on scoring the money-making contracts, between Uniqlo and the Austrian water campaign she recently nabbed.

>> Crowds will always flock to Indio for Coachella, and over the weekend, the fashion flock was well-represented. Agyness Deyn was photographed mid-smooch, confirming speculation that she has moved on from ex-fiance Albert Hammond, Jr. with Phantom Planet's Alex Greenwald and cementing her status as another British model with a thing for musicians.
Henry Holland, in town to pal around with Agy and see the shows, spotted Hedi Slimane "wandering around with a camera in all black." Yesterday morning, Slimane was still in town, scouting and taking breakfast at the newly-opened Ace Hotel in nearby Palm Springs. Also going down at the Ace over the weekend, a New York Times fashion shoot with photographer Sebastian Kim, which must be for an upcoming T magazine.
