Proenza Schouler Debuts Guest Edit of A Magazine, Short Film with Kalup Linzy, and Cruise 2010 Collection All in a Week

>> This has been a week of firsts for Proenza Schouler. They took home their first CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year award Monday, after which Jack McCollough was snapped licking Thakoon Panichgul; Lazaro Hernandez later quipped, "Yeah, we started the week off with a hangover, bad idea, and kind of throws off the whole thing!" With A Magazine #9, out this week with Chloe Sevigny on the cover, they become the first American designer guest editors - Lazaro even photographed the Swarovski campaign inside.

And today, they present their first collection abroad in Florence - complete with performance artist Kalup Linzy's short film starring Chloe Sevigny and Liya Kebede (see here), because they felt they "needed to up the ante." The Cruise 2010 collection includes bags with leather treated to look like herringbone canvas and was inspired by their recent trip to Tahiti: "When we finish a show we go away, and that trip usually winds up being the spark for the next season. Not directly - I think we try to avoid the places where the inspiration would be too on-the-surface, in fact." They say they're staying to work in Italy, and then coming back to get ready for Spring 2010, so maybe some Italian influence will shine through next time around?

In Sydney, Naomi Watts, Nikki Phillips, and Rachael Taylor rode the season's scuba trend in ensembles tinged with surf-sport details. In Los Angeles, Tilda Swinton hosted the Pomellato boutique opening in an ivory silk pajama look from Lanvin, while Jayma Mays, Emmy Rossum, and Jacqueline Emerson all looked Valentine-chic in coordinating red-and-white prints at an event for Lucky magazine. Ralph Rucci will not show during New York Fashion Week. Instead, Rucci has opted to hold private showroom appointments. "Cost is always a factor but [that] was not the driving force behind this decision," the communication director for the label says. [Vogue UK]

A former Harper's Bazaar intern is suing Hearst for unpaid work hours. The lawsuit claims that during the intern's tenure at the magazine, she sometimes worked up to 55 hours a week performing duties that were more employee-like than intern-like - and she wants to be paid for it. [Styleite]

Gisele has sent an email to friends and family requesting prayers and positive vibes for husband Tom Brady, who will play in this Sunday's Super Bowl. Rachel Roy is launching a high-end line of shoes. Roy worked with Manolo Blahnik - a long-time friend and mentor - to create the 30-piece collection, which will feature everything from flats to boots, and will be priced from $195 to $600. The collection hits stores in August. [Lucky]

Sienna Miller is definitely pregnant with boyfriend Tom Sturridge. Her sister, Savannah, confirmed the rumors today, saying, "She is doing really well and we are all really happy about it, Tom is an amazing guy." Sienna, 30, and Sturridge, 26, have been dating for over a year. [Vogue UK]

Though she says Mary-Kate and Ashley don't style her, Elizabeth Olsen does seem to wear a lot of clothing from the line they named after her. This month, Lizzie sports a striped Elizabeth & James top on the cover of Asos Magazine. [FabSugar]

Was Jean Paul Gaultier's Amy Winehouse-Inspired Couture Show in Poor Taste?

>> Amy Winehouse's father seems to think so. Mitch Winehouse has spoken out against Jean Paul Gaultier, saying the designer's recent couture collection - which featured models styled in the late singer's trademark beehives and eyeliner - was "an insult" and in very poor taste.

"The family was upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock," Winehouse told The Sun. "We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary of Amy's death. To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on. We're proud of her influence on fashion, but find black veils on models smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste. It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best, and glamorizes some of the more upsetting times in her life. That's upsetting for her family."

Gaultier, who has not yet responded to the family's criticism, said earlier in the week that the collection was meant as tribute. "It is very joyous,” the designer told the New York Times after the show. "To me the scandal is that no fashion magazine did an Amy Winehouse cover. She was so exceptional in her style; how she held her body; the way she dressed, mixing pieces from different decades."

Elizabeth Olsen Says Her Sisters Don't Dress Her

>> Elizabeth Olsen has been making style waves everywhere she goes - and lately, she's been everywhere. This week alone, the 22-year-old actress has been turning heads from Paris to Park City, in brands that run the gamut from Topshop to Chanel.

In a recent interview, the star of the upcoming films Red Lights and Liberal Arts opened up about her favorite designers: "Definitely Marni and Céline"; her penchant for Proenza: "I wore an orange floral Proenza Schouler dress that I was, like, obsessed with to the W magazine pre-Golden Globes party"; and her current wardrobe go-tos: "I always wear leather pants - always from The Row."

But does Olsen ever ask her famous sisters for styling advice? "It's funny to be asked that because I don't live with them, and they don't dress me. Like, I'm an adult," she explains.

Hitting newsstands Feb. 14, the issue will feature "real people" wearing designer clothing and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Avedon, and Jean-Baptiste Mondino. "I like men trendy, but not fashion victims. It's more effortless," Roitfeld explained of her choice to cast nonmodels. Nick Knight photographed French actor Tahar Rahim for the cover, and a bonus pinup calendar (left) - featuring supermodels and Victoria's Secret Angels photographed by Willy Vanderperre - will supplement the issue.

Hearst Purchases Elle For $885.6 Million
