>> Yell it like Stanley Kowalski (love that play), because Stella McCartney is coming to H&M November 10. It will be interesting to see if all the stores are overrun like last year when Karl Lagerfeld's collection debuted -- I found this collection to be a bit bland. There was nothing that really hit me upside the head and made me say "Wow!"
The colors are dusty, there are some great skinny jeans, an oversized sweater -- all very true to Stella. And I do like the graphic tees. If I had to pick a favorite, it's probably this cropped trench with the bubble hem (left). Love bubble hems.
But really, for what this collection basically is -- a marked-down sample sale -- we have it pretty good.
The collection preview is up here.

you know, I wish we had an H&M in LA.
I wasn't too thrill with the collection either. I do however love the chunky sweater and will probably pick up one of those.
Hope this link to the slideshow works:http://www.vogue.co.uk/Gallery/Stella--s_HM_Launch_Party/Default.html
On second thought, I think I'll pass on the jumpsuit. It looks kinda dowdy from the back...http://www.vogue.co.uk/Gallery/Stella.../Default.html
Hi! I found your blog a couple of days ago and am enjoying the read! :)I'm a little dissapointed with the collection too. It's just a little too basic (and unwearable unless you're really skinny!) for me. When I think designer--even if it's done for a discount store like H&M--I want something with a little more zing to it! However, that being said, I did like the long sleeve graphic tee and the sweater with satin. Those could both be good cold weather building blocks...I'm just not sure it's worth killing myself over to get to the one store in the region that's going to be carrying Stella's collection (a 1+ hour drive). Maybe I'll go the day after... :pAnyway, once again, I'm really enjoying your blog!! Keep up the fab work!
Every time I imagined the queue I'd have to stand in just to get in the store I'd experience a bit of anxiety, and sadly, (or maybe gratefully) I am somewhat disappointed too. I don't think I will be in the queue overnight as I had originally planned! I do like the bubble trench and the knitted blouson but my favorite is the all-in-one as I love jumpsuits! I've been interrogating the sales clerks about the inventory stock, and they seem to think the collection will last for a couple weeks.
I'll agree with chick'n'chic that Karl lagerfel 's collection was also boring like this one , although big H&m fan not that much of their designer collection . Nothing , I found I especially wanted to get squeeshed and pushed for , a few good basic pieces , I like the trentcoat too as well as the graphic tees are much more more worth it , and the green and pinkish dress were nice but not up to her sweater dress Nice .
i'm not histerical about the stella/h&m collection either. my favorite pieces are the green chiffon dress and also the bubly black trench coat but i don't know if i'm going to buy something yet, i have to see and feel the clothes first. as i'll be in london when the collection hits the stores i'm not sure if i'll manage to buy something cause everybody will be in a sort of hypnose buying it all. i really don't understand this craze about the h&m/ designer lines specially because everybody will be wearing them and they won't be special and unique anymore. i also wasn´t found of karl lagerfeld for h&m, the clothes were really boring - he can do so much better than that!
