>> It's no secret that Halston is one of Rachel Zoe's vintage favorites, so it shouldn't surprise you when I tell you that Harvey Weinstein has brought her in to sit on the newly-formed Halston board and act as creative consultant. This means she will help Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon install the new creative team (WWD says they're looking at Narciso Rodriguez), as well as oversee the fashion shows.
I'm not usually one to jump to conclusions here, but the fact that all this "star power" is being brought in at this point in time makes me a little bit skeptical about the product itself. I hate to keep referencing Factory Girl, but Weinstein is doing the same thing with all the hype up front, and they don't even have a designer or a product yet. We all saw how well the hype for Factory Girl panned out. Save the hype for when there is something more concrete to hype, Harvey.
