Jourdan Dunn on Her Son, Style-Obsessed "Mama's Boy" Riley

Jourdan Dunn's son, Riley, hasn't turned 3 yet, but his model mom says he already has a burgeoning — and noticeable — interest in fashion.

Jourdan Dunn's son, Riley, hasn't turned 3 yet, but his model mom says he already has a burgeoning — and noticeable — interest in fashion.

"It's hard being away from my son because we are really superduper close. I mean, he is a little mama's boy," Dunn says in the inaugural episode of The Cut's Inside the Model's Studio. "He's 2 years old, but he's just got personality for days. He's such a boy. Like, he loves his music, he loves to play rough, but then he loves fashion. Like, he puts on a coat and then he goes in front of the mirror and checks himself out."

This isn't the first time Dunn has spoken about Riley recently. Last month she opened up to The Sunday Times about Riley's sickle cell disease, saying she would use her platform to raise awareness of the illness. She added then that the industry stood by her through her pregnancy and after she gave birth. She walked in Jean Paul Gautlier's Spring 2010 show seven months pregnant, and Victoria's Secret once called Dunn in for a shoot while she was still breastfeeding an infant Riley.

"They set up a little curtained area for me to use the breast pump," she said. "Not very glamorous, but, ultimately, I'm a mother first, then a model, and generally the industry is really supportive. This is a good career for a working mother."

Erin O'Connor Sets Up Her Modeling Comeback

Erin O'Connor's star is on the rise once more.

Erin O'Connor's star is on the rise once more. The 34-year-old British model had been snaking in and out of fashion for 15 years before making strong showings in Zac Posen's Resort 2013 lookbook this June and again in Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall 2012 Couture show this July, and now she's here to stay.

"I'm recarving my career yet again, because aside from missing the people I've built relationships with in fashion, I miss posing the most," O'Connor said in an interview with Style.com. "I love the physicality of my job and how my mind and body are most happy when I'm expressing and moving. My face was always secondary to body alignment and the dynamism of making a moment come alive."

Does that mean she'll be creating memorable moments during Fashion Weeks in New York and abroad next month? If so, then she's already well primed for the runway. Gaultier reportedly assigned each of the models in his Couture show a famous woman of the past — like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn — to impersonate on the runway. But he told O'Connor, "You're just going to play yourself. You are already an absolute diva."

It's National Jourlie Day! Happy Birthday to Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn

"I was born Aug.
Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn

"I was born Aug. 3, 1992, and Jourdan was born Aug. 3, 1990. We're birthday twins," Karlie Kloss told i-D last year. And though this year the two won't be spending their special day together — Kloss is headed to Denmark with her family, while Dunn is en route to London — they're still on each other's minds. "I wouldn't wanna share this day with anybody else except my main bitch Ms Kloss!!! love you!" Dunn tweeted earlier today. "Right back at you. How'd I get so lucky as to have a BFF/Bday twin/SoulMate like you?" was Kloss's prompt response.

In honor of the occasion — or as Karlie Kloss calls it, "National Jourlie Day" — here are our favorite snaps of the model pals.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Gives Sneak Peek of Lingerie Line

Exposing only the slightest sliver of fabric, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley displays a small preview of her lingerie line for Marks & Spencer in the September 2012 issue of Elle UK.

A strap and a portion of an embellished bra cup peek out from under a purple sweater in one of photographer David Vasiljevic's shots from the issue, revealing that at least one piece of the collection is heavily detailed. The strap itself features embroidery, while the cup displays delicate cutout details. The rest of the pieces are scheduled to be available in Marks & Spencer stores on Aug. 30.

"I've wanted to design ever since I can remember and I fell into modeling through wanting to design and then, through my modeling career I modeled a lot of lingerie," says Huntington-Whiteley, who has worked for Victoria's Secret and Agent Provocateur.

"My top goal is for it to be accessible and appealing to everybody," she says. "I didn't design it for just me."

That mission may be especially important because of Huntington-Whiteley's start in the modeling industry, which she also discusses in the issue.

"There was no individuality, no opportunity to be individuals. I think that people forget you're human and you just become an object," she says. "I was constantly reminded that I wasn't right wherever I went and that was difficult because I'd come from a place where it didn't matter."

How Hard Is It to Find a Body Double For Kate Moss?

It's common knowledge that Kate Moss is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but what's not so well known is the sheer difficulty of locating someone who looks like her.

It's common knowledge that Kate Moss is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but what's not so well known is the sheer difficulty of locating someone who looks like her.

"We're looking for a Kate Moss body double, but it's very difficult to find anyone of her shape," said Alison Jackson, known for her portraits of celebrity lookalikes. "Kate has the perfect configuration, everything's perfect. How do you find that? Some people have the torso, some the legs, but, so far, no one has the full package."

Recently, Jackson has photographed doppelgangers of Victoria and David Beckham, Queen Elizabeth II, and Katy Perry and Rihanna.

The upcoming issue of Love magazine will feature photos of Alessandra Ambrosio baring her very pregnant stomach the day before she gave birth to her son, Noah. Photographer Boo George captured the model relaxing in a t-shirt and cutoff jean shorts on the beach in Ambrosio's hometown, Florianopolis, Brazil, shortly before her May 7 delivery.

The photos will accompany images of actresses from the costume drama Downton Abbey, who also appear on the issue's multiple covers.

Ambrosio isn't the only model who's been photographed with child recently. Her fellow Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima will appear in next year's Pirelli calendar sporting a pregnant stomach.

A glimpse at some outtakes from George's shoot with Ambrosio here in the gallery.

Arizona Muse Supports Saint Laurent Name Change

Arizona Muse has added her voice to the chorus of people who support changing the name of Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent Paris.

Arizona Muse has added her voice to the chorus of people who support changing the name of Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent Paris.

"People who aren't in the fashion world might not know that a new designer has joined the brand, so this is a clear way of signifying that there's been a big change," Muse said in an interview. "It's the sort of thing everyone will notice, not just fashion people."

Karl Lagerfeld has also thrown his support behind the change, saying, "Paris needs some new things, some stimulation . . . I think it's interesting and it's important. Something fresh was needed."

And while other industry giants like Pierre Bergé and Betty Catroux have also backed the shift, reaction among the public has been mixed. When Saint Laurent Paris unveiled the new logo on its Facebook page this week, one fan of the brand decried it as "an act of disrespect."

Hedi Slimane, who was appointed the brand's creative director in March, announced the change in June, emphasizing that the iconic YSL logo will be preserved for use on some products. The new name should be fully integrated into the company's brand messaging by September, when Slimane stages his first show for Saint Laurent Paris.

Selita Ebanks

Selita Ebanks Accused of Assault

Model Liza Irizarry says she plans to sue Selita Ebanks for assault and battery, claiming the Victoria's Secret Angel punched her in the face and broke her nose outside a Miami nightclub last year.

Model Liza Irizarry says she plans to sue Selita Ebanks for assault and battery, claiming the Victoria's Secret Angel punched her in the face and broke her nose outside a Miami nightclub last year.

Irizarry, who works for Telemundo, says she kissed Ebanks's boyfriend on the cheek in greeting when she saw him in front of the Dream club in Miami. She alleges that a drunken Ebanks did not react well to her salutation. "When she saw me, she said, 'Don't be kissing my man," Irizarry said in an interview. "That's when she hit me on the nose. I went to swing back; that's when all her friends jumped in. I felt hair-pulling and fists coming at me."

Irizarry says the nose injury required surgery days later. Her suit will seek damages covering pain, suffering, and medical costs.

Ebanks's lawyer, Paul Rothenberg, said the suit "is nine months old and completely without merit" and called Irizarry's claims "baseless."

A Long Journey Home: Alek Wek Returns to South Sudan

Alek Wek's stellar modeling career has taken her all across the globe, but it's been years since she's been back to her homeland in the Sudan — until she traveled there this month.

Alek Wek's stellar modeling career has taken her all across the globe, but it's been years since she's been back to her homeland in the Sudan — until she traveled there this month. Wek, who was the first African model to cover Elle, went to the newly formed nation of South Sudan to help celebrate the country's very first independence day. She's also working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to help the country develop and grow, and told us that for now, her work in fashion will take a backseat to her humanitarian efforts.

"I will carry on utilizing my voice to give back: that's long term," she said over the phone in Juba, South Sudan's capital. "I'm already modeling in moderation because my mom is already on my case. At first it was like, 'Education, then a job, and now what's happening, where are the babies?'" she added, laughing. "So I think you can't just be hopping around in planes. You need to slow down a little bit."

However, Wek said that working in fashion was important, because it gave her the platform to affect change. "It's definitely given me a voice, and I think we have such a responsibility to use that," she explained. "Even if I wasn't a fashion model . . . I still think that we all as individuals can do something and make a difference in another human being's life."

To that end, Wek — who has walked the runway for Dior, Valentino, and Diane von Furstenberg, among others — has focused on helping the UNHCR develop agriculture, health, and education initiatives in the country. While she was there this month, Wek visited the nation's new first lady, spent time with refugees waiting to travel back to their hometowns, and spoke at a conference about the importance of schooling children — and especially young women. "When you educate a woman, the entire nation is educated," she said during her speech.

"Who's going to lead this country going forward is the young people, the youth, which I feel really strongly about," she told us. "When you educate the young people, you don't just educate them to be literate. You educate them to not repeat the same bad mistakes that have taken place in the past."

A look back at Wek's decade-plus on the runway, here in the gallery.

2012 Olympics

How Is Alessandra Ambrosio Participating in the Olympics?

When London hands the Olympic flag off to Rio de Janiero — which will host the games in 2016 — news reports say Alessandra Ambrosio will be on hand to help with the festivities.

The Victoria's Secret Angel is expected to participate in the flag handover, a portion of the closing ceremony that has been touted as the "most visible celebrations of Brazilian culture in London's history." Ambrosio's precise role in the event has not been specified, but her modeling agency, Models 1, has confirmed that she will travel to London as a representative of the 2016 games.

Plans for a host of British supermodels to participate in the closing ceremony were revealed earlier this week. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Georgia May Jagger, and Lily Cole will reportedly put on a fashion show displaying clothing from Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen during the extravaganza. The rest of the ceremony will celebrate British music and will feature performances from Queen, One Direction, Annie Lennox, and Adele, among others.
