In the most recent issue of The Journal Maria Cornejo talked about her newfound excitement for prints and we are delighted to see so many of them in her Pre-Fall 2009 collection. Judging by her statements in the interview and the appearance of print in her Pre-Fall 2009 collection, we can probably expect some great prints from the Fall 2009 collection. That said, all of those fashion gals who depend on Cornejo for their all-black winter uniform will probably still be in good shape--we doubt the designer will abandon her aesthetic completely.

This past weekend we picked up a copy of The Journal and sat down with a cup of coffee to read about designer Maria Cornejo. Cornejo was an exile from Pinochet's Chile who grew up and made her name in London back in the 1980's. From there she moved to New York and after attempting to keep a low profile with her tiny Nolita boutique she became, deservedly, a high profile designer all over again.
