Stella McCartney Resort/Spring 2009 Collection.
Fashion In 50 Seconds 11/07/08
The Thakoon for Target collection, which will hit shelves in a few short weeks, is a major crowd-pleaser--resort-friendly with fantastic bold prints, when fashionistas wear these duds in December it should be hard to miss..
In Fifth Avenue news...the Louis Vuitton store will unveil their holiday decorations this weekend with translucent, multi-color monogram wrapping on the exterior of the building. The installation was created by none other than Takashi Murakami.
Last night marked the opening of a two-story Juicy Couture flagship also on Fifth Avenue and here's a photo gallery to prove it. The event was...inspired.
There's a new street style aggregate and those in favor of the medium have put their stamp of approval on it. We're happy to for the organization but, please, give a gal an index!
Oscar de la Renta Fall & Resort Deliveries

Oscar de la Renta is a designer who doesn't create collections that pivot too much on concept--he is known, in other words, for his individual garments rather than his specific collections. It should come at no surprise, then, that his Resort business is strong...so strong, in fact, that we can only keep the Fall and Resort deliveries straight with the seasonal notion of color and fabric as our guide. Whether it's a distressed shearling leather jacket or a pair of luxe high waist pants, we think the Oscar de la Renta customer will be so consumed by the purchase itself they may very well forget all about the business of seasons. >> INSIDER WIRE —Big coup for Thakoon Panichgul last night: Instead of going with Oscar de la Renta or Carolina Herrera like so many political women do, Michelle Obama wore a Thakoon Resort 2009 dress for all the world to see while her husband delivered his nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. Frida Giannini Taps Into the Rachel Zoe Style Rules for Gucci Resort 2009
>> If Frida Giannini is aiming for her Gucci customer to be one Rachel Zoe, nothing says it stronger than the flowy printed maxi dresses and one-shouldered bohemian blouses that she sent out as Gucci's Resort 2009 collection.
Shown in Rome to celebrate the brand's 70th anniversary and a re-opening flagship, the collection will surely please those who hanker for a Hermes scarf-like minidress or a pair of fringed espadrille wedges. Guests who were left waiting for their rides to the show venue, however, were less impressed, remarking that if Tom Ford were still at Gucci, the cars wouldn't have been late, and the drivers would have been handsome and topless . . .
A video of the show can be seen here.
