Now there is a need for a more authentic and dignified style . . . I think being transgressive today is being classical. To pretend to dress as a punk and take cocaine and have sex orgies has just become common now — there's nothing transgressive about that. The fashion pages, like Purple magazine, are just a joke." Lagerfeld was also asked to guest edit a cover and editorial for the October 2009 issue of Wallpaper. For his cover, Lagerfeld photographed a seemingly Dior Homme-clothed Baptiste, but he added a layer of paper to the magazine which can be peeled off to reveal Giabiconi naked. His 27-page editorial inside also focuses on Baptiste — in locales such as the Queen’s Theater in Versailles.

Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld Is Still Photographing Baptiste Giabiconi in Women's Clothes

>> There's no doubt that Baptiste Giabiconi has become a regular in the Karl Lagerfeld entourage, and Karl seems to be especially enamored with capturing him wearing women's shoes and clothing.

In the March 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, it was a Chanel tweed jacket, necklace, and heels; in the July 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon, it was a Chanel couture jacket in one photo and a Chanel couture dress in another; and now, for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2009 issue of Purple Fashion, Baptiste posed for Karl in nothing but a pair of heels.

Elle

>> INSIDER WIRE —Freelance stylist (Another Magazine, Elle, Lula, Purple and APC among her recent clients) Camille Bidault-Waddington and former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker have split after six years of marriage and are "still on amicable terms," according to Cocker.  Rumors of estrangement have been circulating for some time, as neither has been spotted wearing their wedding ring recently; and last September, Bidault-Waddington and Olivier Zahm "played tongue hockey" during a Purple party.  The two have a six-year-old son together.

Diane von Furstenberg Tries Other Designers On For Size in Purple

>> Apparently Diane von Furstenberg's Purple cover — featuring the designer in leotard, heels, and Margiela wig coat — sold well; Founder Olivier Zahm posted a note today saying that the magazine "is currently sold out in most of the United States."  For those who haven't snatched up their copy yet, new shipments are arriving Friday, but in the meantime, a further look at Diane's editorial outing — curiously, she's not wearing any of her own designs, but rather Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Rodarte.  We know she's a fan of the latter; she was front row at their show last week.*image: source, source
