Summer wardrobe need a little kick? Marc Jacobs's Pre-Fall 2012 accessories — rolling into stores now — may be just the thing. With structured shapes, minimalistic detailing, crisp hues, and loads of texture (the quilted snakeskin and printed calfskins are particularly fetching), these bags are sure to look sweet now — and straight through Fall. Some of our favorites, in the slideshow.
>> Jason Wu's signature accessory shapes meet the rich colors of the Maharajah for Pre-Fall 2012. There are Mini Miss Wu bags in punched-up patents, Jourdan chain crossbody bags in cleverly textural colorblock, and perky Karlie clutches with zigzag trim. But our favorites? All the drool-worthy, totally gorgeous shoes. Lattice-strapped sandals, two-tone platforms, lace-up buckle booties, shiny contrast brogues — all totally girlie, without a hint of priss. >> Monogrammed suits, argyle sweater dresses, buffalo plaid ponchos — there was a bit of something for everyone at Stella McCartney's Pre-Fall 2012 presentation. Held at New York's West Village restaurant, One If By Land, Two If By Sea, the presentation offered up a nice helping of what McCartney does best: Elegantly-crafted separates and dresses that feel chic, but don't take themselves too seriously. "Pre-Fall has a wider starting point, so it’s about giving a voice to the different facets of a woman," McCartney said. "It’s less about referencing something specific and more . . . psychological." See the entire collection — including accessories — and scenes from the presentation here.
