Thanks to a new design director and high end skiwear line in the pipeline, J Lindeberg is poised for good things in 2009. Something that we've always liked about the brand is the guy's guy inspiration that starts off each collection. This Fall 2009, for instance, the inspiration came from all of Brigitte Bardot's lovers, or, "Brigitte's Boys" as the J. Lindeberg team called it. What this allowed for were the most iconic pieces worn by Serge Gainsborg and the like, reinterpreted from the sporty, classic J. Lindeberg perspective.
IMG is going to "do what it takes" to get Michelle Obama into the tents at Fashion Week.
Department stores have started to cough up their freebies and, naturally, a depressing line outside of Macy's forms.
Another behind the scenes video has dropped, this one for the Louis Vuitton Spring 09 ad campaign with Madonna.
In this video Kim Johnson, sales executive for J Lindeberg, tells us about the A/W 08 collection. For American men, the key to being stylish is blending new dandyism with the tradition of casual dress. Johnson tells us about the inspiration for the collection as derived from surf culture and the notion that the J. Lindeberg man is the sort to mix tailored garments with backseat-of-the-station wagon duds. Things are looking up for the boys, as labels like J. Lindeberg are mending the discord between men who dress well and men who wear 'dad jeans' and oversized t-shirts. We just can't wait for the women's line to be reintroduced as it will surely include some Sunday afternoon outfits with boyfriend-like tailoring.
This week, we popped into the J Lindeberg showroom where Kim Johnson, U.S. sales executive, showed us the A/W 08 collection. Later in the week, we'll have a video of Johnson telling us about the inspiration and collaborators for A/W 08, and, Lindeberg's plans for relaunching the women's line. For now, just to wet your appetite, we've got our hands on the complete A/W 08 look book. J. Lindeberg didn't have a runway show this season, so consider this our special sendoff to fashion week!
