New York Fashion Week: Ideeen Fall 2009

We first learned of New York based brand Ideeen at the OAK showroom where their Spring 09 collection--based on the evolution of a dream--was on display.

We first learned of New York based brand Ideeen at the OAK showroom where their Spring 09 collection--based on the evolution of a dream--was on display. This Fall 2009 the Japanese design duo, Junko Hirata and Atsuko Yanase, let a tougher side of their brand speak, resulting in Rodarte-like knits, tye-died denim, and cotton blouses with hoods.

In The Showroom: Ideeen Spring 2009

Ideeen's Spring 2009 collection was based on a dream, with each delivery marking a different stage in the experience.

Ideeen's Spring 2009 collection was based on a dream, with each delivery marking a different stage in the experience. The collection starts out with powdery nudes and soft, feminine layering. Next, elements of darkness follow the cloud-like beginning and bring the collection into a stage where draping, color, and print are experimented with. The New York-based Japanese design duo behind this brand,  Junko Hirata and Atsuko Yanase, met when they were working for designer Catherine Malandrino. With just a few seasons under their belt, Ideeen has received critical acclaim from both buyers and press. To see the Spring 09 look book, click here.
