Another Monday has come and gone and we recommend you seal the deal with a few posts from our lovely Network Partners.
Current/Elliot, the denim line du jour for ripped boyfriend styles, appeared on a very accessorized celebrity fashionista. Denimology can tell you the make and model of just about any pair of jeans on the street.
There were three posts from our Network Partners this week that had us slobbering over pants--not an easy feat considering how downright unprepared we feel to slither into our skinnies again. This morning Style Bubble documented her DIY savvy by slashing a pair of jeans to bits. We're seeing this trend all over the place and it's not just the DIY fashionistas who indulge. Denimology also picked up on this trend by highlighting the top-notch denim offering by Balmain this Spring 09. The denim from the collection might not reveal too much skin but the idea is still there; it's all about jeans that are tight and frayed. Feeling a little overwhelmed with the prospect of denim, Fashion Nation gave it up to a pair of faux-leather leggings that touch on all the right trends. Namely, the ever-popular exposed zip look. Is it just us or is it time to head to the gym?
The theme for today's Coutorture Community Must Reads is F-U-N, because we've spent the entire day being super stressy about all that's going on in Paris (information overload!)--must reads are "must reads" for a reason.
Denimology found out about a pair of tie dyed Siwy's the old fashioned way: via the designer's myspace page. We've been longtime Siwy fans, in case you missed our Spring 08 photo shoot entitled "A Siwy Summer". The reverse of light and dark indigo on this pair has our interest piqued.
M.I.S.S. Crew posted their October spread today-bringing, as usual, some much needed humor to our serious mood. The Paris shows might be amazing to watch but sometimes all you're looking for is a new desktop image and some street wear you can actually afford.
Buffalo check? Er, check! Fashion Weakley found herself rallying all the examples of this effect to get us all riled up for those Fall 08 cozies. We're going to insert a buffalo check button down into our perpetual wintertime daydream where we're singing karaoke in long johns and motorcycle boots, looking rosy-cheeked and super low-key. Did we just say that out loud?
The biggest subject of buzz around Coutorture's corner of the fashion blogosphere today was just how amazing and/or awful the shoes were at Prada's Spring 2009 show with bloggers researching every possible angle of the now infamous footwear.
Shoewawa was first on the scene, Shoeblog had an impressive play by play of the offending/inspiring footwear and noted the shoe cover connection, Hip Candy pointed us to an ankle twisting photo that made is grimace, Fassonaburu even had a video of Yulia Kharlapanova falling, and Fashion Copius rounds up quotes and backstage anecdotes on the show and its already infamous shoes.
And in case you want to read about something else besides Prada, Fashion Fillers is on the hunt for the perfect pair of boots. A journey we wish her luck on as it took us a decade and $400 to get ours (and that was a 50% discount). Denimology talks about My Lovely Jean's new retailer TopShop. And finally it turns out that Alber Elbaz has a thing for colored pencils. No really, Chic and Untroubled points us to a limited edition color pencil box called "20 Years of Supracolor by Alber."
