The striking interplay of proportion, color, and floral prints in Marc Jacobs's Resort 2013 collection took inspiration from photographer Cindy Sherman's series of clown portraits. But what keeps the collection from venturing too far into circus territory are its '70s prints and sophisticated tailoring. The exaggerated shapes and innovative styling — for example, a below-the-knee dress paired with wide-legged trousers creates the look of one long-sleeved maxi dress — harken back to Jacobs's Fall 2012 collections for Louis Vuitton and his own label. As a result, this collection makes a fitting addition to his growing assortment of very modern classics.

By all accounts, the CFDA's official afterparty at the Top of the Standard in New York City Monday night was an unforgettable evening of celebration.

The party — hosted by Nadja Swarovski — hit its stride shortly after midnight. Rodger Berman and Rachel Zoe were reportedly among the first to arrive, and things livened up considerably by the time winners Joseph Altuzarra and Billy Reid arrived — followed shortly by Jason Wu and Olivier Theyskens. A stream of Moet & Chandon champagne from the open bar put everyone in the mood to dance. Garance Doré kicked her heels off to join the revelry, and an eyewitness spotted Hamish Bowles cutting a rug, too. But perhaps the most spirited celebrators at the afterparty were also the most clandestine. Brad Goreski told a reporter, "Alex Wang and Erin Wasson are dirty dancing over there in the corner right now."

Doutzen Kroes Shares Her Fitness Secrets — and One Food Weakness

Supermodel Doetzen Kroes is known for her amazing figure, but the Victoria's Secret Angel admits to having a major weakness when it comes to a certain food.
Doutzen Kroes Supermodel Diet Secrets

Supermodel Doetzen Kroes is known for her amazing figure, but the Victoria's Secret Angel admits to having a major weakness when it comes to a certain food. "French fries," Kroes told us at last night's CFDA Awards. "I really like the ones at Shake Shack. That's the thing with french fries, and potato chips too. You have one, and you can't stop. But I always try not to eat the whole bucket that they give you, because I think that's the trick. Everything in moderation; you can't force yourself to eat none of the good stuff. I wouldn't be a happy person if I only ate salads. I love salads — but salads with fries."

So how does the 27-year-old Dutch stunner stay in such great shape? Well, being a mother certainly seems to help. "I have a son so I'm always running after him," Kroes explained. "He's started walking and so that's lots of work. And my priority is really towards him, so I cook for him and then I just munch a little bit and I don't sit down to eat until later."

Of course, the supermodel also admits to a very strenuous exercise routine: "I box, I jump rope, and I do lots of leg work, you know, to keep the butt up. So, it's lots of things. I have an amazing trainer and I'm really fortunate to have that, you know? But it's also my job. You can't compare my life to somebody who goes to work everyday; I have to look this way."

A look back at some of Kroes's most recent red-carpet looks — including her breathtaking Sophie Theallet look from last night's CFDA Awards — in the slideshow.

CFDA Awards to Be Broadcast For the Very First Time (Updated)

On June 5, the CFDA Awards will be broadcast online, allowing a global audience unprecedented access to the ceremony for the first time in history.

On June 5, the CFDA Awards will be broadcast online, allowing a global audience unprecedented access to the ceremony for the first time in history.

The stream will air at noon EDT on Style.com's homepage and on a special section of the site dedicated to the CFDA, which celebrates is 50th anniversary this year. Everything from arrivals on the red carpet — where Tim Blanks will interview some of the industry's biggest names as they walk into the awards show — to designers' acceptance speeches will be shown in the broadcast. The awards ceremony itself will be held in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on June 4.

Style.com's special CFDA page launched on Thursday, featuring interviews with this year's honorees and a slideshow of photos from the past 30 years of CFDA Awards, which started in 1981.

"From the beginning, it has been the mission of Style.com to use technology to bring our global, fashion obsessed audience behind the closed doors of fashion," said the site's editor in chief Dirk Standen. "This 50th anniversary show gives us an opportunity to do just that while allowing us to celebrate and give broader exposure to the incredible work of American designers."

Update: The award show will not be broadcast until 5 pm, but the red carpet highlight reel is online and available for viewers.

InstaGlam: Our Favorite Snaps From the 2012 CFDA Awards

Fashion's biggest night has come and gone — but not without plenty of glamour and charm.

Fashion's biggest night has come and gone — but not without plenty of glamour and charm. And why not? After all, it's not every day that the industry meets up to reflect and celebrate. "It's like a reunion," Zac Posen explained. "The community works together."

"I'm excited about five decades of American fashion," CFDA chief Steven Kolb explained as he strolled the red carpet. "It's our 50th anniversary so we did a really cool retrospective, with designers from the '60s, like Donald Brooks, all the way up through the zeros to now. Its going to be really good. That's what I'm most excited about."

"I'm really excited about the fact that so many wonderful people have been nominated, and also that the whole design community comes together," fashion patron and style icon Michelle Harper agreed. "Diane von Furstenberg is an incredible leader, Steven Kolb is fantastic. And just all the efforts that they do to support designers — it's amazing."

Tommy Hilfiger, who was to be honored with the prestigious Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, was also in high spirits. "I think, 'Is this really happening?' Then I think about the fact that I've been doing this for a long time, but also, I think, I'm too young to get this award," the iconic designer laughed.

See our snapshots and read more from the industry's biggest players and supporters — including Diane von Furstenberg, Doutzen Kroes, Jessica Chastain, and more — here, in the slideshow.
