What better way to celebrate Alber Elbaz's 10 years designing for Lanvin than with a gilded coffee-table book?

This month, Steidl will publish Alber Elbaz — Lanvin, a $450 tome filled with quotations from Elbaz and some 400 behind-the-scenes images — shot by photographer But-Sou Lai — of the work he does there.

"When the whole industry is about the six minutes of the show and a review that is being written in a taxi because then there is the next one, I thought, I'm going to show everyone how much effort goes into making a single dress," he told The Independent. "I wanted to show how many threads you have to put together to make one rose; how much thought goes into a button. I wanted to show a shoe in the factory in Italy being held like a baby by an old man and then attached to a machine as if it was going to the dentist."

Elbaz went on to say that he values craft more than fame — something that shows both in his collections and in his book. Take a glimpse of its pages here, in the gallery.

A topless, slightly sand-covered Gisele Bundchen is the star of Vogue Paris's June issue, the first edition of the magazine that follows the publication's worldwide Health Initiative.

Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the image. Readers will find stories about targeted exercise, nutrition, and an exclusive interview with Bundchen about how she keeps in shape in the magazine's features section. The issue will hit newsstands on May 24.

All 19 editions of Vogue agreed to start following a set of guidelines that will promote a healthier body image in the pages of its magazines. Like Vogue Paris and American Vogue — which yesterday debuted a cover featuring three Olympic athletes — most editions of the magazine will dedicate their June issues to the topic of health. Vogue Japan's health issue will follow in July.

Royal Mail Releases Great British Fashion Stamps

Britain's post offices are about to get a lot more chic.
Great British Fashion Stamps

Britain's post offices are about to get a lot more chic. The Royal Mail today released a collection of 10 stamps in honor of the country's biggest fashion influencers.

Photographer Solve Sundsbo shot images of clothes from Alexander McQueen, Zandra Rhodes, Vivienne Westwood, and other designers and retailers for the series of first-class stamps. The stamps will surely lend style to any envelopes they're stuck on, but they also carry an important message about Britain's place in fashion history. Sir Norman Hartnell, for example, designed clothes for Queen Elizabeth II that helped inspire Christian Dior's New Look, and the influential boutique Granny Takes a Trip counted The Beatles and the Rolling Stones among its first customers.

A look at the entire series of stamps in the gallery.

A seasonless assortment of grown-up separates in fluid silhouettes were the touchpoints of Tomas Maier's appealing Resort 2013 collection for Bottega Veneta. The designer looked to art, and particularly the frescoes of Tiepolo and Veronese, for a faded bouquet palette of butter yellow, pale peach, and pistachio, working each hue into powerful head-to-toe monochrome looks — complete with matching shoes and bags.

To capitalize on the season's long selling period — and to capture its neither-here-nor-there transitional spirit — pieces came in light fabrics such as viscose jersey and superfine cashmere, but were styled in lean, ultra-functional layers. Bags — a hallmark for the brand — embodied this same sense of innovative practicality: in addition to leather, the season's intrecciato clutches, satchels, and totes came woven in rubber, metal, and Japanese paper.

Congratulations are in order for Isabeli Fontana, who recently announced she's engaged to Rohan Marley, son of singer Bob Marley.

Fontana, 28, told Brazilian newspaper Terra that she and Marley haven't set a date but plan to hold the wedding in Ethiopia. The country is the birthplace of Rastafarian culture, which holds a special significance for 39-year-old Marley.

"Rohan told me that we must return to their origins so that the marriage will last forever," Fontana said.

Fontana was previously wed to models Álvaro Jacomossi and Henri Castelli and had a son with each. Marley was once married to his college girlfriend and was in a relationship from 1996 to 2011 with singer Lauryn Hill, with whom he has five children. Last Summer, Fontana was rumored to have come between Marley and Hill, but Marley roundly denied that notion. He and Fontana have been dating since October 2011 and recently attended the Met Gala together.

Take a look at the happy couple together — and at Fontana's work for everyone from Dolce & Gabbana to Victoria's Secret — here in the gallery.

Club Monaco Fall 2012 Lookbook

>> Club Monaco's recent penchant for West Coast ease continues into Fall 2012. This time around, however, the California breeziness gets tempered with a hint of structure in the form of prep school blazers, cropped trousers, no-nonsense button-ups, and militaristic parkas. Block prints — inspired by those of Sonia Delaunay — dapple fit-and-flare dresses and boxy blouses, while argyle knits and zigzag stripes lend free spirited charm to ponchos and pullovers. The collection starts trickling into stores and clubmonaco.com this July. Until then, peep it all — as modeled by Suzanne Diaz and Nicola Haffmans — right here.
