Garance Dore Reed Krakoff Boxer Bag Travel Diary

Garance Doré took a few iterations of Reed Krakoff's Boxer Bag on her travels to New York, Paris, Tokyo, and beyond. The result? A photo story that went live on the designer's site Monday.

"It's the kind of bag you get so attached to that you end up taking it everywhere you go," Doré told WWD. "The pictures came naturally as I was living my life. Montauk on the beach, New York for Fashion Week, Paris with my love . . . so many great memories."

In the audio slideshow that accompanies the collaboration, Doré says she loves "the idea of taking a very chic bag out of its context." Doré's photos of the Boxer — which retails for $990 and up — here, in the gallery.

In Honor of Her Birthday: A Look Back at Sofia Coppola's Super-Chic Style

Sofia Coppola's style cred is no secret: not only is the revered director best friends with Marc Jacobs, but she also married in knee-length Alaia, lensed the Marni for H&M campaign, and collaborated on a collection for Louis Vuitton — and that's all just within the last year. So, in honor of our favorite ankle-strap-wearing, double-cuff-sporting, rock-star-marrying filmmaker's May 14 birthday, here's a look back at some of her chicest moments — from the early '90s to today.

All the Chicness: Front Row at Chanel Resort 2013

Versailles's fabled gardens played host today not just to Chanel's Resort 2013 show, but also to a crowd of well-heeled, Chanel-clad guests.
Celebrities and Front Row at the Chanel 2013 Resort Show

Versailles's fabled gardens played host today not just to Chanel's Resort 2013 show, but also to a crowd of well-heeled, Chanel-clad guests. Tilda Swinton — ever the embodiment of androgynous cool — chatted with Haider Ackermann in a calf-length military coat cut from the house's signature nubby tweed. Alice Dellal perched front row in a demure ruffle-embroidered sheath, while Vanessa Paradis was the picture of Spring in a sparkly, printed dress, and Laura Bailey channeled a modern-day Coco in an ivory ensemble. Even Karl Lagerfeld stepped it up for the occasion: the Kaiser traded in his usual button-up for a checkered shirt-and-tie combo.

The rococo embellishments on many of the garments Karl Lagerfeld sent down the runway made it impossible to imagine him showing the collection anywhere else. Floral embroidery accented modernized versions of what French nobles wore to the court of Louis XVI, and many of the looks were paired with pastel-colored flatforms. Derek Blasberg likened the looks to "Marie Antoinette in denim" — an apt description indeed. The monarch wouldn't have looked totally out of place in one of Lagerfeld's denim vests — trimmed as they were, of course, in gold rope.

Opening Ceremony to Start Fashion and Culture Magazine

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are reportedly launching a magazine this Summer.

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are reportedly launching a magazine this Summer.

The new glossy, called OC Annual, is billed as a "collectible fashion and culture magazine" and will be published once a year. Each issue will focus on a theme; the debut issue, due out in August, will center on the Olympic Games in London, where Opening Ceremony plans to open a store later this year. So far, they've recruited Bruce Weber, Walter Pfeiffer, Todd Cole, and Tim Barber to take pictures for the magazine.

Neither Leon nor Lim has spoken publicly about the magazine, but in an internal memo obtained by WWD, Lim wrote that the goal is to create a magazine that has a broad appeal.

"As magazine fanatics, O.C. founder Humberto Leon and myself are aiming to create a collectible publication for a new generation, something beautiful and special in the vein of Benetton's Colors, Comme des Garçons' Six and Joe McKenna's Joe," Lim wrote. "We want to make a magazine that will appeal to kids in Nebraska as much as industry people."

In addition to running Opening Ceremony outposts in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, Leon and Lim also design the Opening Ceremony label, as well as the Paris-based line Kenzo. The duo is also working on a book celebrating Opening Ceremony's 10th anniversary. The book will be published by Rizzoli in September.

Sasha Pivovarova Gives Birth on Mother's Day

Sasha Pivovarova delivered a baby girl on Sunday, just in time for Mother's Day.

The model tweeted the good news Sunday morning, first saying that she'd had a "beautiful baby girl," and adding later that it was her first time "celebrating mother's day as a mommy! Happy mother's day to all mothers around the world :) Love, Sasha." The baby is the first child for Pivovarova and her husband, photographer Igor Vishnyakov.

Pivovarova had flown under the radar about her pregnancy since announcing that she and Vishnyakov were expecting in December. The model released a pregnancy photo Vishnyakov took on Twitter last week, just days before giving birth.

The child's name hasn't yet been released. In fact, the only detail Pivovarova has revealed about her child's birth is a picture of the flowers in her delivery room. Take a look at the bouquet — and at Pivovarova's baby bump — in the gallery.
