>> Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton (and McQueen CEO Jonathan Akeroyd and a spokesperson from the label) have all categorically denied any involvement with Kate Middleton's wedding gown, although many still seem skeptical about believing them.

But McQueen aside, which other British or London-based designers have taken their names off the list of potentials? Marchesa, for one. “I’m excited to see what [Middleton]’s going to be wearing,” Keren Craig said. “I think she’s a very stylish woman, and I think she’ll probably choose something beautiful and classic. I don’t think she’s going to go for anything too trend-based or crazy edgy. She’ll look like a princess!”

Don't expect to see Middleton donning London labels Erdem or Vivienne Westwood, either — spokespeople from each label denied any involvement. And although wedding gown favorite Alice Temperley is making no comment on the matter, WWD cites sources saying that she's not doing Middleton's dress.

So who's remaining mum on whether they involved? Former favorite in the race, old school London couturier Bruce Oldfield; Issa's Danielle Helayel, who is a Middleton favorite (but Helayel is Brazilian and doesn't have much experience with gowns — honeymoon garb seems much more likely); and Catherine Walker, a brand which specializes in wedding gowns and made Princess Diana's burial gown.

>> Since resigning as editor of POP last November, Dasha Zhukova's new endeavors have been primarily art focused. The day after she resigned, it was announced that Zhukova had invested in and was expected to be active in the business of online startup Art.sy, which aims to be a "Pandora for art," recommending pieces to potential buyers based on their taste.

And a couple of weeks ago, it was confirmed that "in a gesture designed to please" Zhukova, her partner Roman Abramovich will finance a state-of-the-art modern art gallery in Moscow's Gorky Park, part of a £1.25 billion ($2.04 billion) makeover of the location which will also include a London Eye-style Ferris wheel. The forthcoming gallery is expected to be curated and run by Zhukova, who also confirmed that she plans to move her Moscow-based Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture to Gorky Park after the renovations are complete.

Now, rumors are circulating that Zhukova plans to return to print. The Imagist reports: "Have you caught that whisper of a hiss that suggests that post-POP, the world's most glamorous art maven, Dasha Zhukova, is summoning her very own culture mag ? . . . We heard the suspected name, which makes perfect branding sense...But who's designing? Who's shooting for? London based? Paris? Moscow? Art driven or is [it] a fashion frenzy?"

>> Designers, like us all, have their fair share of introductory meetings they wish they could do over — as I recall, Gareth Pugh wished he hadn't first been introduced to Anna Wintour backstage with beer in hand. But it sounds like Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough may one-up Pugh. Early on in their career, they say, one moment in particular stands out: "One that still makes us laugh is the time when we were still living in our studio, and some big important magazine was coming to see the collection for the first time. We were such messes back then and hadn’t realized the clocks had changed an hour back. It was early morning and we were doing the final lint-rolling still in our pajamas (read: underwear!) thinking we were totally on time, when the elevator door opened and the editor in chief of the magazine walked in. There we were, lint-rolling half-naked. We were mortified. She [the editor] still reminds us about it every time we see her. We have made it a point to wear a watch ever since." [The Window]
