>> Natalia Vodianova and her new boyfriend, Antoine Arnault, (son of LVMH head Bernard Arnault) haven't been snapped together since August, when a vacation in Ibiza tipped off their romantic relationship. But last night they were back in the public eye. Vodianova, a face of the LVMH-owned Guerlain, hosted a private sale of jewelry she created with designer Yulia Fosty at the brand's flagship in Paris. Proceeds for The Russian Fairy Tale collection, as it was called, went to the Naked Heart Foundation, which Vodianova founded to finance playgrounds and support centers for underprivileged children in Russia.

>> For Pre-Fall 2012, Phillip Lim drew on his lifelong fascination with neo-noir comics like Sin City, Superman, and V for Vendetta. While the inspiration was taken literally in the graphic KA-POW-emblazoned sweaters and clutches, it also moved in more subtle directions: "Everyone wants garments to be superheroes," Lim explained. "This 'fill in the blank' should save your day, your week, your year." Thus, the collection is full of "clothes that adapt to the lifestyle of the modern woman," in the designer's words, including reversible puffer jackets and blazers and skirts with zippers that adjust their proportions.
>> In past years, Leonardo DiCaprio has dated Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli and been spotted with Anne Vyalitsyna and, most recently, Anna Maria Jagodzinska in June. The perennial modelizer, post his breakup with Blake Lively, now seems to have found a new model companion. Victoria's Secret Angel Erin Heatherton was snapped spending time with the actor yesterday, at the historic Vaucluse House in Sydney, Australia.
>> After a recent trek to the Himalayas, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were inspired to model tweed jackets after mountaineering parkas, fashion button-downs out of windbreaker nylon, and give coats and dresses quilting like sleeping bags. Thus, the Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2012 collection — which also finishes up with a round of bustier dresses and skirts in a silk jacquard pulled from a Google Earth aerial view of mountains.
>> We've seen a video teaser of Karl Lagerfeld's upcoming lower-priced Karl line, now, a few more looks — and details — have been released.
The collection, which launches Jan. 25 exclusively on Net-a-Porter for the Spring 2012 season, includes over 70 pieces (including pants, sweatshirts, skirts, shirts, dresses, t-shirts, shoes, and bags) in black, white, gray, silver, burgundy, and pink. Prices range from $50 for a canvas bag embellished with a cameo of Karl Lagerfeld's profile to over $1,000 for some of the leather pieces.
A few more detailed descriptions from the press release:
- A sleeveless leather jacket is contrasted with a dress adorned with zippers.
- A classic white shirt comes with a double-bib front in black coated cotton, and there are shirts with layered swimmer-back cuts.
- Sportswear elements are evident, with some pieces boasting vinyl sleeves, athletic-inspired shorts, and rubber patches stamped with Karl's logo, reminiscent of a boxer's belt.
- Also featured are shorts in heavy cotton with a buttoned fly and zippers on the thighs, as well as black wool pants with tuxedo stripes.
- T-shirt dresses are draped in metallic-silk or cotton jersey, and there are also leather skirts, round-collar silk blouses, plunging zippered necklines on the back of short dresses, detachable collars, sequined skirts and dresses.

>> Helmut Lang's signature draped dresses and leather jackets are for Pre-Fall 2012 interspliced with webby prints and burnouts — derived from the web patterns of spiders on drugs. With this collection, designers Nicole and Michael Colovos are also launching a t-shirt line of their greatest hits, dubbed Helmut, which will retail from $90 to $175 and include jersey basics like tops, dresses, and leggings.
>> Gold lace, diamanté detailing, and more than a few sequins dotted Alice Temperley's Pre-Fall 2012 collection. "It's less of a bohemian look, more dreamlike and ethereal," said Temperley, noting that Dante Gabriel Rossetti and the 19th-century aesthetic movement served as inspirations. "There is more of an opulence, a femininity, and a flow to the collection."
