>> Jason Wu's "regal" Pre-Fall 2012 collection is inspired by Indian maharajas and the colorful illustrations of Charley Harper. "Combining the two meant a strict silhouette with stately embellishments," Wu explained. Both evening dresses and daywear came hand-embroidered, and Wu doubled the size of his year-old accessories collection, introducing the Daphne leather frame bag, named after Daphne Groeneveld.
Fashion Descends on Miami For Art Basel (Updated)
>> Art Basel Miami is officially under way today, but a few fashion houses got a head start on the festivities yesterday. Swarovski hosted a dinner at Soho Beach House, Dior unveiled its first pop-up shop — and first artist collaboration, with Anselm Reyle — and Fendi opened its "Craft Alchemy" installation, drawing a colorfully dressed crowd that included Giovanna Battaglia, Naomi Campbell, and Dasha Zhukova.
