>> Fashion videos are a dime a dozen these days, but Madewell takes the concept a step further with their new holiday video. The choose-your-own-adventure video — which employs user-directed technology — gives the viewer five seconds to make choices like tea with Dree Hemingway vs. coffee with stylist Marina Munoz; shoes vs. purses; and sparkles or confetti. "What makes the video so amazing is that you control it," says Madewell’s head of design Kin Ying Lee. "You choose every direction the video takes — from what pieces she wears to which party she goes to — the options are endless. It's completely addicting." [The Moment]

Pringle of Scotland Pre-Fall 2012

>> Kicking off the Pre-Fall 2012 season is Alastair Carr's third collection for Pringle. "I looked at the classic knit pieces in the archives and wanted to twist things up a bit," he told Style.com of his latest offering. Seams and sweaters are literally twisted; the Pringle argyle has been amplified and sewn on sweaters in colored crystals; and Carr replaced the classic twinset with a "triple set": a coat, sweater, and trousers. The graffiti print pants and dresses, meanwhile, were drawn from an image the designer snapped of Paris street art.

Marni for H&M

>> H&M already has its next designer collaboration lined up: Marni. The collection, which encompasses womenswear, menswear, jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves, hits 260 H&M stores worldwide and online on March 8, 2012.

Look forward to tribal prints mixed with colorful Bauhaus graphics: "I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," explains Consuelo Castiglioni. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements."

According to the collection's press release: "For women, the colors are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler color blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. For men, the colors and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics."

2011 British Fashion Awards

>> This evening at London's Savoy Theatre, a who's who of British fashion gathered for The British Fashion Council's annual awards. Victoria Beckham, accepting her Designer Brand of the Year award from presenter Marc Jacobs, told the crowd, "I am SO nervous," before shedding a few tears and adding: "This is rubbish." Alexa Chung, who took home the British Style award — which is decided by a public vote — dedicated her award to "girls who dress like awkward boys." Kate Hudson, presenting Red Carpet Award to Stella McCartney, regaled the audience with an anecdote about the dress McCartney designed for her to wear to her first Oscars: "I wore Stella and made every worst-dressed list. The next day, I called Stella, and she said, 'Face it babe, it was the hair.'" And finally, Sarah Burton, who took home Designer of the Year, called the award "the icing on the cake for what has been an amazing year."
