Phoebe Philo Devises Statement Coats and a "Modern Urban Camouflage" For Celine Pre-Fall 2011
>> Phoebe Philo gave us a sneak peek at her pre-Fall 2011 collection last month with the jumpsuit she wore to the British Fashion Awards, but now we have the full 36-look collection. Adding some punch to her minimal aesthetic, Philo devised eye-catching looks like a structured coat made of iridescent PVC and a leopard print jacket made out of calfskin. Patchwork patterns of raw denim and Harris and Shetland tweeds create what she calls a "modern urban camouflage"; there's a new top handle handbag — the Triptych — with three zipper compartments; and the much-wanted clog sandals are back, in new colors and with velcro closures.
