>> Italy-based brands seems to love Miranda Kerr's high-fashion stint: two have cast her in their Fall 2010 campaigns, first Prada, and now Jil Sander. The latter, which appeared today, was shot by Willy Vandeperre, as usual for the brand.

But the news may not stop there: Australian press is reporting that the recently-engaged Kerr has indicated that she will make a personal statement in the next couple of hours, spurring speculation that she "could be releasing wedding plans . . . or [announcing] that she is pregnant." When asked about the baby rumors, Kerr's Australian agent said recently, "I am sorry but I am unable to make a comment." And Kerr herself said a couple of weeks ago: "The rumours started as soon as it became known we were engaged. We are ignoring them and enjoying this moment.  I have always been very open about wanting to be a mother one day and I've always thought Orlando [Bloom, her fiance] would be a great dad."

UPDATE: Kerr's publicist confirmed that she and Bloom, who were engaged June 21, have married overnight. Kerr has canceled an appearance next week in Australia for department store chain David Jones, of which she is the face: "David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together."[Sydney Morning Herald, Sydney Morning Herald]

If the people who fought two World Wars came back to 2010 and saw all of us running around in tracksuits, what would they think? It is just being sloppy. And it is not about the money, it is a mindset." She countinued, "I have nothing against people who are round. I am far too thin, for example. I’d really love to put on a few pounds. But I certainly think some people look tremendously unhealthy — and quite unhappy actually." [Daily Mail]

A First Peek at Rodarte's Black Swan Ballet Costumes

>> Along with the announcement that Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan will open the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1 comes the release of the first images from the film — including a first look (left) at the 40 costumes Laura and Kate Mulleavy designed for the movie's entire ballet corps. Their work will be featured in the film's scenes from "Swan Lake," and this marks Rodarte's first foray into costuming for film.

The Mulleavys were honored last night for winning the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awards fashion design category by host Michelle Obama, but pulled out on attending the ceremony early yesterday morning. Their spokesman sent an email saying that the designers “had a change of plans," later adding that they “had a family obligation to attend to in Los Angeles."

Dello Russo's fragrance, which based on a hint on her blog may be called "Beyond," is set to debut at the end of the year. She says the idea was suggested by influential art director Ronnie Cooke Newhouse: "Ronnie defined me as an insider reality fashion star and so I thought, now is the time to do a fragrance." [WWD]
