Frenzy over the World Cup hasn't escaped the fashion world, and our favorite soccer-inspired editorial comes from V magazine's "The Sexy Body Issue." Photographed by Sebastian Faena, Alessandra Ambrosio, Eniko Mihalik, Maryna Linchuk, Dree Hemingway, and Constance Jablonski appear in a 12-page spread inspired by Argentine footballers' wives. The layout is not unlike a South American celebrity gossip mag with photos of a breast-feeding Maryna and Dree in head to toe leopard print complete with sensational headlines like "Scandal! Girls Banned From Smoking!"

V magazine issue #66 also features the 50 hottest bodies in the world, and will be on newsstands July 8.

YSL celebrated the launch of its new fragrance, Belle d'Opium, with a launch party in New York that brought out Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ashley Olsen, and Alexa Chung (who was on spinning duty along with Alexandra Richards). Celebrating the modern rendition of the original 1977 fragrance, the event featured a performance by French actress Melanie Thierry (who appears in the fragrance's TV spot) with atomizers spritzing the new scent into an IMAX-style theater stage. The very modern launch was complete with iPads available for guests to post comments on the Belle d'Opium's webpage. Photographer Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter was the evening's official photographer, snapping candid images that are now on the YSL Facebook page.

Florio, who leaves Conde Nast as SVP and publishing director, overseeing Vogue, Teen Vogue, Bon Appetit, and Conde Nast Traveler, at the end of this month after 25 years, told WWD: “I’m just in a position to do something else. It could be in TV; it could be on many platforms. It also could be that I will be working closely with Condé Nast. We’ll see.”

Florio reportedly wants to run his own show and met with executives at IMG shortly after yesterday's announcement; an announcement in the entertainment world is said to be forthcoming.

It sounds like fashion director Alex White is staying on, and she's rumored to be shooting stories for the magazine's September issue, which will mark the first issue with Tonchi's full redesign.

Changes are already apparent in the magazine's July 2010 issue, however: White worked with Terry Richardson on a 17-shot editorial. Recently, two current and former W staffers confirmed to Jezebel that Richardson had not worked with W in a while; another individual claimed that the most recent instance was in the November 1996 issue. There was a rumor that the ban on Richardson's work was instituted after former W art director Dennis Freedman took offense to a photo by the photographer of a model with her head in an oven.
