>> Anxiously awaited every year, the Vogue Paris 2011 calendar — which comes as an insert in the magazine's December/January holiday issue, out Nov. 30 — is here. Mikael Jansson is this year's photographer, and he captured portraits of Daria Werbowy, wearing not much other than fine jewelry or some lingerie here and there for every month.
>> Balenciaga stylist Marie Amelie Sauve recently worked with Gisele Bundchen on the brand's Spring 2011 runway show and campaign; needless to say, she's a fan: “You know what I like, and more and more I think it’s important, is to be toned . . . When you look soft, that I don’t like at all. Gisele is of course the best body, for me, because she’s doing a lot of different sports." As for why Sauve "never ever" wears makeup: "I started in fashion when I was 19, and as soon as you start in the fashion business, I don’t know why, but you don’t wear a lot of makeup. Especially when you’re shooting and you see a lot of models, because they are wearing a lot, you avoid it, maybe? It’s a funny thing.” [Into the Gloss]
>> Fans of Alexa Chung's Madewell collection: there's hope for a second round. When asked whether it was a possibility, Chung told The New York Times: “I hope so. They sent me nice flowers for my birthday.”
She's also got a new TV series coming out on PBS next Summer — "Thrift America" — which follows Chung and Maya Singer (the series creator and Style.com's editor of special projects) as they comb "consignment shops, garage sales, and flea markets for old clothing, furniture, music equipment, and other potential treasures to use in various creative endeavors" — in what is painted like a fashion version of "Antiques Roadshow" mashed together with “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.”
On the show's itinerary are Orlando, Detroit, Nashville, Alabama, Brooklyn, as well as Paris and London, and in the first episode, Chung helps Pamela Love create a pop-up shop for London Fashion Week. Essentially, as Singer describes it, the idea is to show viewers firsthand, “What does Alexa Chung pull out of the crap bin at the yard sale?”

>> Giovanna Battaglia has a penchant for high heels — kitten heels even — and the occasional chic flat, but for the past two nights, she's popped up in London wearing none of the aforementioned. On her feet instead? A set of black Uggs. Apparently it's not a newfound style proclivity — she Tweeted a couple of days ago: "I broke my pinky toe! :-( So no more heels . . . for 10 days, but the most painful thing is that today I was forced to buy UGG."
>> The string of fashion documentaries — Lagerfeld Confidential, Valentino: The Last Emperor, Picture Me, and The September Issue — isn't ending. IFC Films just announced its acquisition of the French documentary Yves Saint Laurent L'Amour Fou, which it will release in 2011. The film chronicles the Story of Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge all the way through Berge's decision to sell their multimillion dollar private art collection upon the designer's death, through rare archives and exclusive images — some of which can be seen here. Berge and Saint Laurent muses, Betty Catroux and Loulou de la Falaise, were all interviewed for the film — the trailer for which is above.
>> The possibility was first hinted at by The Imagist, which reported in early October that transgender model and Givenchy muse Lea T had scheduled "an upcoming appearance on the biggest talk show in America where [she] opens up and truly tells her story." Now, Elle reports that the model, who is now landing covers, has indeed been scheduled to film a segment for one of Oprah's final shows, which will air in February. [Elle]
