>> As the month comes to a close, couture shows won't be the only thing looming for Anja Rubik: she and boyfriend, fellow model Sasha Knezevic, will be closing their first full issue — 224 pages worth — of 25 magazine.

Together, Sasha and Anja began work on the already-established Viennese magazine in November of last year, infusing the December 2009 issue (cover below left) with a taste of what's to come: a complete overhaul.  It all came about, according to Sasha, "because a friend of mine bought 25 and asked me to help him out. I convinced Anja to do the fashion part and before we realized, we had our own magazine."

With Sasha as the magazine's new joint editor-in-chief and creative director (Anja's acting as fashion/art director), they're bringing in completely new editorial teams — one in New York, one in Vienna — and switching the former monthly magazine into a quarterly fashion and lifestyle book.  The full effect of their labors will be on display when the Spring 2010 issue comes out in February.

One of our favorite studded clogs this season—a classic style in tan leather by Stuart Weitzman (left)—hit stores this week, while the strap happy version at right will be available this March. Priced at $345 and $375, respectively, both are fashionable ways to embrace spring's clog-obsessed trend without breaking the bank. Of course, you could also splurge on these, which will most certainly have a long wait list come spring.

Another Tongue-In-Cheek Vogue Italia Cover from Steven Meisel Has Karlie Kloss Spoofing A Runway Spill

One month after Meiselpic, 20 pages of model self portraits à la Twitpic, photographer Steven Meisel's latest poke fun at fashion cover is a series of images depicting the dreadful runway tumble.

One month after Meiselpic, 20 pages of model self portraits à la Twitpic, photographer Steven Meisel's latest poke fun at fashion cover is a series of images depicting the dreadful runway tumble. Karlie Kloss plays the unfortunate giraffe who must fight against gravity and all odds to stay balanced and keep chic while teetering on not-made-for-human heels on top of a slick-as-ice runway.

I’d really like to work with sapphires and rubies, and using color in [the Spring 2010] collection was a step toward that.” [The Moment]

John Galliano Transforms Karlie Kloss Into A Young Lauren Bacall for Christian Dior

Seventeen-year-old Karlie Kloss was the most photographed model in American Vogue last year and the 5'11" beauty continues her model takeover in John Galliano's Christian Dior spring ad campaign.

Speaking of the advertising photo shoot in today's WWD, Galliano gushes, "“Karlie Kloss smoldered with the same intensity and wide-eyed look as a young Lauren Bacall. I love the smoky, sophisticated atmosphere of the image. This feels very right for now — escapist and sensual. . . You can start a whole script just by staring into her eyes.” The campaign, like the spring 2010 Dior show in Pairs last October, was inspired by “shadowy film noir cinema” and photographed by Steven Meisel to introduce “modern-day billboard siren.”

In other Dior news, Marion Cotillard will appear in her second short film for the design house—a music video called "Lady Rouge"—making its web debut on January 14. With music and lyrics by Fraz Ferdinand, Cotillard plays a New York City working girl who transforms into a jazz signer after dark.

London-based Mark Fast—celebrated maker of body conscious cobweb knitwear—has answered our prayers with a newly released, more affordable collection, called Faster, for spring.

Inspired by the unexpected high demand for pair of tights designed for his runway show goodie bags, Fast manufacturers the less expensive collection using machines in Italy, rather than, say, one person hand-knitting a designer collection piece, which can retail for thousands of dollars.

Prices for the new lineup of form-fitting tube dresses, cropped tops, and leggings, range from $25-$400 wholesale and will be available this spring in New York at Curve and Seven.
