"We're still feeling short (lengths)," Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough told Mark Holgate of their Proenza Schouler pre-fall collection, which had tweed and leather skirts hitting miles above the knee. Influenced by "The Catcher in the Rye," and a Japanese fabric dying technique called shibori, the collection is appropriately techno-tie-dye-meets-collegitate-prep with a very appealing economical twist—almost 25 pieces will be available below typical Proenza retail prices, some even under $500.

Nothing toughens up spring's flirty florals quite like a solid lace-up, mid-calf boot.

Nothing toughens up spring's flirty florals quite like a solid lace-up, mid-calf boot. We own a pair of Boutique 9 workwear boots (at left) in black, but that hasn't stopped us from lusting after these more spring-appropriate neutrals. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville designed their Rag & Bone boots with a 3.5" stacked heel for those of you who prefer the extra height, and George Esquivel gives the classic combat a style update with a front zipper for hassle-free accessorizing.

Slightly different (and a little less scary) than earlier images of the collection leaked online last fall, Louise Goldin's first footwear collection for Topshop is still tough, edgy, and very much inspired by the shoes seen on her spring 2010 runway in London.

Slightly different (and a little less scary) than earlier images of the collection leaked online last fall, Louise Goldin's first footwear collection for Topshop is still tough, edgy, and very much inspired by the shoes seen on her spring 2010 runway in London. The Nineties-style stiletto pumps with combinations of studs and crystals on the heel and toe will be available in shades of black, cream, gold, and rose. According to Goldin, the pastel colors and crystals offer a bit of opulence and glamour that balance the spiked, fierce studs. The shoes retail for $310 and will be available online February 5.
