>> So it turns out Vogue Paris's September 2009 cover — the one that was rumored to feature a "radical model makeover" — does boast Lara Stone, as suspected, complete with eyebrows (hers are normally bleached) and dark brown hair. The image, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, marks the second this year Carine Roitfeld has devoted to Lara — the first fronting the February 2009 issue, in which she was the only model.
>> Marc Jacobs's Wedding Will Only Have Two Attendees —Marc Jacobs was in East Hampton, New York, over the weekend, but he's still promising his wedding to Lorenzo Martone, which is supposed to be this month in Provincetown, Massachusetts, is happening "soon." Those who were expecting a big affair will be disappointed — he says that no friends or family will attend the ceremony: "[The wedding will be] very quiet, just the two of us. >> The roster of events for Anna Wintour's international shopping extravaganza on Sept. 10, Fashion's Night Out, has been rolled out, and as Anna put it in the press release: “Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”
Wintour kicks everything off, along with Michael Kors and "a surprise celebrity guest," at Macy's Queen Center location at 5 pm and will sign t-shirts for the first 50 customers. That event just so happens to be ten minutes away from a US Open tennis match Roger Federer will likely play that same day at 7 pm (and thus Anna will likely attend).
>> T's Karla Martinez to Interview; Teen Vogue's Taylor Tomasi to Marie Claire? —Back in July, it was rumored that T editor Stefano Tonchi might be jumping ship to Vogue, but it's his market director, Karla Martinez, who is confirmed to be leaving the recently downsized magazine for a market director position at Interview. Meanwhile, Teen Vogue's accessories director Taylor Tomasi, who has accumulated a style following, is said to be leaving the magazine for Marie Claire and the magazine's fashion director Nina Garcia, the latter who just happened to film for an episode of the CW's upcoming The Beautiful Life (Zac Posen is in the series premiere). >> The first POP cover under Dasha Zhukova for Fall/Winter 2009, featuring 13-year-old blogger Tavi from Style Rookie in artwork by Damien Hirst, is said to be the image at right. Hirst's participation marks Dasha's push to make the magazine reach further than just the fashion world as it had primarily in the past; her goal when first appointed editor in February was to "provide a broader point of view focusing also on art, contemporary culture and the globalisation of all things pop-related."
We've had a blurry peak at one of the magazine's editorials inside; the cover also boasts a contribution by Juergen Teller, a M/M Paris "bookzine," a 25-year tribute to Naomi Campbell, and "a stem-cell research celebration by Rodarte." If Tavi is indeed on the cover, it's worth noting that a couple of weeks ago, a preview from LOVE's upcoming issue circulated featuring Tavi — ironic that her first two major magazine appearances happen to be in Katie Grand's former magazine (POP), and her current magazine (LOVE).
On a more personal front: last month, Dasha Zhukova's relationship with billionaire Roman Abramovich was said to be over, and now she's being surrounded by pregnancy rumors.
