Karen Walker's Fall 2009 collection, which was shown during New York Fashion Week, was titled "Cracked". On the runway the theme manifested in chic break-away jackets and quirky prints depicting shattered china plates and broken strands of pearls. Walker also experimented with princess sleeves this season, showing the new silhouette on everything from trench coats to jersey dresses. Check out the full range of looks in the gallery below.
We're headed back to the office after the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2010 show, here's a quick peek at the collection! Naturally, de la Renta's signature skirt suits, caftans and evening gowns dominated the collection--they were as beautiful as ever. Many of the first looks, tweed and rendered predominately in navy and white, called up Chanel. We'll be bringing you a full gallery of runway photos later this afternoon, stay tuned!
For Resort, Chris Benz took inspiration from childhood memories of Palm Springs and, as usual, the designer's eye for color took center stage. One sure hit from the collection is a mustard color blazer with studded shoulders--it has just the right amount of padding to please women looking to experiment with the strong shoulder trend.
Matthew Williamson will not show in New York this Spring 2010, but in London for its 25th anniversary.
