The thing Matthew Williamson has going for him when it comes to resort is that his signature aesthetic is vaguely "tropical island" in the first place. For Resort 2010 he sent out a combination of candy colors and bright, electric prints. Some pieces were subtly beaded while others had dramatic embroidery. Considering that Williamson's price point is on the high end of designer, we much prefer his softer, more subdued expressions. Two of our favorites, above.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who won Accessory Designer of the Year at the CFDA Awards this week, showed a resort collection which adopted a laid back vacation vibe. Pairing nylon surf shorts with wool crew neck sweaters, city-ready skirts over bright, sporty tanks and tie-dye tops under embroidered jackets and frocks there is a balance between surf and city life that will offer a lot of options in-store. As for accessories, modestly sized pocketbooks and geometric platforms in colors like eggplant and jade prove how deserving the pair are of that CFDA Award.
