Linda Evangelista

>> THE MODELIZERLinda Evangelista on her first Steven Meisel shoot ever: "It was the beginning of our story.  I remember I heard something about how they loved my knees. As a model, you are never referred to as a whole person. You are dissected into little pieces. I thought maybe they were being sarcastic, because I got teased my whole life about my knees. There were also comments about my gums. I was like, 'My gums?' I didn't think that my gums would stand out. [Laughs]  So, there you go. My knees and my gums." [Style.com]

Harper's Bazaar

Vogue Pays Tribute to Model Muses for May 2009

>> The wait is over.
Vogue May 2009:

>> The wait is over.  The May 2009 issue of Vogue, wholly dedicated to models in anticipation of this year's Model as Muse Costume Insitute Gala next month has debuted, and Liya Kebede, Natalia Vodianova, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Jourdan Dunn, Raquel Zimmermann, Caroline Trentini, and Natasha Poly all made the final cut, wearing what appears to be Rodarte.  This cover, shot by Steven Meisel, is notable not only because of its subjects, but because it marks the third consecutive cover to feature a woman of color on the front.

Inside, Natalia Vodianova, who has been called "the Baby" by Steven Meisel and makeup artist Pat McGrath since they starting working with her, collaborated with them again on a tribute editorial to models past, from Twiggy to Dovima, similar to the one Gisele Bundchen did for Harper's Bazaar last month.  The key to Natalia's chameleon act?  "I looked at each woman's lips — they're all different."

Under current law, only original prints or graphics on clothes can be copyrighted — as they are considered artwork — and Trovata’s suit focuses on Forever 21’s copying of its unique button placements, decorative stitching, fabric patterns and other details.

Shopping: Strong Red Dresses With Soft Ruffles

This season, with the ruffle trend at full force, strong red dresses have been rendered in softer silhouettes.

This season, with the ruffle trend at full force, strong red dresses have been rendered in softer silhouettes. Pair these frocks with nude pumps and black eyeliner for a classic but updated evening look. Preen's Silk Ray Dress might be our favorite this season, but for something a little less costly, we also fancy the offerings from contemporary labels 3.1 Phillip Lim and Caroline Hedaya.
