Trend de la Creme For Coutorture: Erin Fetherston Spring 2009
Trend de la Creme is a Coutorture Network Partner and our resident comparison contributor--her ability to match runway images and natural phenomena is truly remarkable. This week marks her first foray into the Spring 2009 collections and it's an intense start for sure. Erin Fetherston (before she moved onto a more structured silhouette) showed a Spring 2009 collection with a number of billowing frocks. Trend de la Creme noticed a comparison immediately--between those frocks and the mushroom clouds produced by nuclear bombs. Probably not what Fetherston had in mind but there's no denying the resemblance.
>> THE MODELIZER —The mystery of why Auguste Tomasuite (aka Auguste Abeliunaite) was crying through both of her passes on the Jil Sander runway continues, and even though there is photographic evidence, the brand's US publicist denies it happened: “No model was crying on the runway! No idea what you are talking about, sorry.” When shown the pictures: “I did not see it, can’t see it in the video and no one has asked about it to anyone in the press offices.” [Heard on the Runway]

Dannijo Jewelry On The Trovata Fall 2009 Runway
Jewelry, however vital is its role in fashion, often takes a backseat to the clothing, shoes, and handbags that come down the runway during any given season. Not to be missed in New York this season, was Dannijo's designs for Trovata. Wrapped rose gold necklaces and heavy-duty sterling silver rings were particularly eye-catching and, we discovered, surprisingly affordable too. The two sisters behind this line have landed their goods in a slew of upscale boutiques, like Bergdorf Goodman and Otte, so this probably won't be their last Fashion Week appearance.
