Victorialand Fall 2009 Look Book

This new contemporary label, launched by Pencey designer Kate Wendelborn, is on the top of our list for Fall. By re-imagining the men's shirt in a feminine way, Wendelborn has given life to a collection of Alexander Wang meets Comme des Garcons style shirting. Her aim, in her words: "modernizing a classic style and still giving reason to keep it in a wardrobe forever". Sounds well-timed and fashionably relevant to us! Check out the Fall 2009 Victorialand look book below.

Quote Of The Day: Suzy Menkes Covers Fashion Weeks In India

Although the Wills week and its competing Indian fashion events may not yet have made a global impact, designers in this 21st century should be able to thrive on craft and creativity, which are increasingly prized in a fashion world saturated with cookie-cutter brands.
Although the Wills week and its competing Indian fashion events may not yet have made a global impact, designers in this 21st century should be able to thrive on craft and creativity, which are increasingly prized in a fashion world saturated with cookie-cutter brands. "Craft in patchwork, craft in beading — whether I like it or not, all Indian designers are different and they don't do what everyone else has done," said Julie Gilhart, fashion director of Barneys New York. She was front-row-watching Indian fashion for the first time and fascinated by the individuality and verve. "I don't know if we will buy it — Barneys is so focused," Ms. Gilhart said. "But there is not one show where I didn't see a piece that I liked."

Shopping: Isaac Mizrahi Gives Liz Claiborne A Fashion Kick

Isaac Mizrahi's Fall 2009 collection might have received praise for being so quintessentially him but we love watching what he can do for the mainstream retailers.

Isaac Mizrahi's Fall 2009 collection might have received praise for being so quintessentially him but we love watching what he can do for the mainstream retailers. For his first full collection at Liz Caliborne, Mizrahi pulled out all the stops. Inexpensive, classic American pieces are layered into chic pulled-together looks. We might still be in our twenties but we much prefer this style of dress to the disheveled, just-rolled-out-of-bed look. No matter which style you adhere to, we think there's something for everyone in this collection.
