Giles & Brother

>> INSIDER WIRE —Philip Crangi, winner of last year's CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Design and collaborator with Jason Wu for Fall 2009, launched an e-commerce site today for his costume jewelry line Giles & Brother, due to all the phone calls his studio receives inquiring about his jewelry availability.  A quick flip through the site features safety pin earrings, leather lashed bracelets, his trademark railroad spike cuffs — which, as a grand opening treat, Crangi is offering free stamping on — and a noticeable amount of brass.  As Crangi explained in The Cut's recent studio visit: "We're obsessed with brass.  Brass is the new gold.

The September Issue Hitting Theaters in September

>> North American rights to RJ Cutler's well-received Vogue documentary The September Issue have been picked up by Roadside Attractions, which means that the film is coming to a theater near you — in appropriately, September.  The distributor now owns domestic theatrical and home video rights, and A&E still has television rights — but they won't debut the movie on TV until after its theater run.Who's foreseeing a big Vogue-sponsored premiere party to coincide with Fashion Week in September?  It's too good of a coincidence to not be taken advantage of.

Prada Pre-Fall 2009

For her Pre-Fall 2009 collection, Miuccia Prada worked with volume and texture, keeping other elements, like color, under control.

For her Pre-Fall 2009 collection, Miuccia Prada worked with volume and texture, keeping other elements, like color, under control. Fur was used quite liberally as was black. If her Men's Fall 2009 and Pre-Fall collections have anything to do with it, we think the Prada Ready To Wear Fall 2009 collection will be quite dark indeed. Is this troublesome? When it's Prada, it's hard not to love.

Harem Trousers Get Breezy For Spring

If there ever were a moment to test-run this trend it's now--spring's harem trousers couldn't be lighter and easier to understand.

If there ever were a moment to test-run this trend it's now--spring's harem trousers couldn't be lighter and easier to understand. In the fall you have to worry about how to layer them properly and how not lose your ankles to the cold. In the summer, on the other hand, you can just slip a pair over your sandals and go. All we can say is...is it June yet?
