>> INSIDER WIRE —Chanel's Spring 2009 couture collection doesn't debut until tomorrow morning, but Cathy Horyn went by the atelier and has a few hints about what we can expect to see. Freja Beha Erichsen has been chosen as the couture bride, and will wear a pants ensemble with white paper headdress and a train "that swept across half the studio floor." Everything in the collection is white, or black and white, and centers around Karl Lagerfeld's favorite thing — paper (even though he apparently had a Kindle on his desk). The silhouette is "as modern as can be — short and trim — with a sharpness to the lines that evokes cut paper." And the girls will be decorated with flowers, hair ornaments, and little caps, all made out of paper. [On the Runway]

Raquel Poses, Picks Pomegranates for Marc Jacobs Spring 2009
>> A couple of Marc Jacob's Spring 2009 ads have been floating around, but now we've got what looks to be the complete set — collect them all! No odd legs-coming-out-of-shopping-bag shot this time — it's all Raquel Zimmermann standing on chairs, leaning against ladders, and balancing on monster-sized carts in a pastoral pomegranate mini-orchard. Juergen Teller did the honors again this time around, though — you can see his shadow in a few pictures — so there's still one distended legs-coming-out-of-nowhere shot.
Gallery is NSFW.

>> THE MODELIZER —Coco Rocha may not have ended her modeling sabbatical just yet — maybe we'll see her at Chanel tomorrow? — but another model who took a break is back. Irina Lazareanu, who took the Spring 2009 season off — runway, editorial, and all — walked Alexis Mabille and Christian Dior today.

Spring 2009 Dior Proves Couture Still Going Strong
>> While editor attendance may not be as high as in the past, executives aren't too concerned about the state of couture. In fact, this week, no drop in client attendance is expected at the shows, and growth — albeit lower than that in 2008 — is still predicted for 2009. Judging by John Galliano's colorful, theatrical Spring 2009 outing today, with blue and white delft prints, stained glass backdrop, and corseted crinoline gowns that took 300 to 400 hours each to make, the top brass at Dior isn't too worried, either.

This Just In: Oliver Theyskens Possibly Leaving Nina Ricci...Again?
Fashion Week Daily reported, back in December, that Oliver Theykens was on his way out at Nina Ricci and today, Grazia reports it as being true. Despite a very public denial of the rumor and an impending Paris Fashion Week runway slot, Grazia claims that the news is "sweeping through the front rows of the Couture shows".
