>> INSIDER WIRE —2009 is already shaping to be a big year for Scott "The Sartorialist" Schuman. His first major ad campaign, for DKNY Jeans, recently debuted for the Spring 2009 season, and today he announced his first book deal with Penguin for 500 pages of images. The book is set to be published in Sept. 2009, as a paperback and limited-edition "bespoke" version simultaneously, and will include coverage of London, Paris, Dublin, plus a few cities in Australia and the United States. Gemma Ward's Weighty Struggles
>> Just a week after promises of Gemma Ward's imminent return to modeling came, Australian tabloid The Sunday Telegraph ran a front page story yesterday advertising "shocking pics" snapped Friday of the model in a swimsuit at Byron Bay, where Ward is currently vacationing, and maliciously labeling her a "Roll Model."
Gemma first experienced weight-related backlash in October 2007, when she walked the Chanel Spring 2008 runway in a swimsuit, debuting a more voluptuous figure than she carried in the past. Soon after, she took her year-long sabbatical from modelling; According to an unnamed friend, "She knows she did let herself go during the year, but she had fun doing it, just being herself and doing whatever she wanted."
Supposedly, she's currently exercising daily with the help of a personal trainer, presumedly to hit model weight for that comeback. Although she's never talked publicly about wrestling to maintain the "ideal" model weight, Gemma is far from alone in her struggle — Ali Michael told Teen Vogue about her debilitating laxative use last year, and Coco Rocha detailed her battle with diuretic pills at a CFDA panel.

YSL Goes Unisex....No, Really

Word is Stefano Pilati is going to take the famous Yves Saint Laurent androgyny thing one step further and put out a tried-and-true unisex line. This is, by the sound of it, an entirely separate endeavor than the Yves Saint Laurent ready to wear men's and women's ranges---which are, and should always be, separate. Else we might stand to lose these.
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady Engaged
>> There was a false alarm over the holidays, but now, the end product still came true — Gisele Bundchen is engaged to her quarterback boyfriend, Tom Brady, as of this weekend. Brady proposed with a solitaire diamond on Friday in LA, and friends and family were informed over the weekend. There's no official announcement yet, but Gisele is said to be working on that — as well as preliminary wedding details — this week: "The couple is discussing a huge fashionista event in the spring or a more intimate and quicker ceremony in Costa Rica, where Gisele has a home."

The Lake And Stars Offer Swim This Season
Much to our delight we've discovered that one of our favorite lingerie brands, The Lake And Stars, is offering a swim collection this season. Quite appropriately, the range is edited down to just a few styles and you'd better believe they can stand their own ground. Our favorite is the low-cut one-piece with a removable belt. It's sexy, it's classic, and we're pretty sure we'd be tempted to wear it as a bodysuit. Check out the rest of the Lake & Stars Swim 09 collection right here.

Net-a-Porter Takes An Additional 20% Off This Week

The Net-a-Porter mark downs are dipping even lower this week, and a new set of must-haves is warranted. At this point in the sale, sizes are limited, so be sure to keep that in mind before you justify a pair of Louboutins. We think these pieces are timeless and Spring-ready, and, with some going for over 50% off, fine investments indeed.
Hong Kong Fashion Week: Over-Rolls Fall 2009
Today marks the first day of Fashion Week in Hong Kong, only proving our theory that it's always Fashion Week somewhere. One collection that caught our eye was the Over-Rolls Fall 2009 collection. The loose, layered knits were right on the mark and in their best form when they bunched around the neck. Check out the collection below and learn more about the Korean brand right here.

>> THE MODELIZER —For all of those wondering about Alek Wek's surprise appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet last night, she apparently sat front row and center at the show in Dior, as a unnamed film executive's date. [
