>> Spring 2010 brings a number of firsts for Burberry: the first time Christopher Bailey has shown under the label in London instead of Milan and the first time the show was streamed live on the Internet — the video can be seen here. It was a big bash for the likes of London — a guest list of 1,500 and a tent venue erected on the grounds of the Chelsea College of Art & Design — bringing front row faces like Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen, brand face Emma Watson, plus Mario Testino, Jacquetta Wheeler, Bruce Weber, and Agyness Deyn.
When the show was ready to start this evening, the venue — with Burberry check-embossed walls — went dark, and the Burberry logo lit up the runway until the stream of models, wearing pale-colored or metallic knotted, draped, and twisted variations on the classic trench and miniskirt, commenced. A few furs were even thrown in, despite the Spring season. At the end, in celebration of the quintessential British brand's return to home turf, a rain of silver confetti streamed down.

>> Julia, Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld Relationship Updates —Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Swedish model Robert Konjic, who have been seeing each other since earlier this year, have been spotted all around London Fashion Week — the Temperley London and Showstudio parties yesterday and the Burberry show and afterparty today, where they were seen holding hands. Meanwhile, there's been speculation about her brother Vladimir's relationship with Lily Donaldson: he was photographed kissing Giovanna Battaglia last week at his New York Fashion Week exhibition, even though Lily was also an attendee, and he and Giovanna have been snapped together frequently recently. >> Pastel seems to be the palette of choice for Spring 2010 in London, and London returner Jonathan Saunders is no exception. With the help of Katie Grand's styling know-how, plus Christian Louboutin gladiators that had spectators in a tizzy, Saunders's models worked the runway in sheer flouncy pink and lavender pieces and rope-trimmed dresses. To break the mold, highlighter yellow also appeared in the large, sparse, and uncomfortably hot room Saunders showed in.

>> Lara Stone Wants to Change Figure, May Sit Out Milan —Lara Stone walked for the first time this season yesterday at Christopher Kane, where she said that she isn't sure if she'll be walking in Milan, but she'll definitely be in Paris because "it's like going home." And curiously, she's working to change her career-boosting figure: "I don’t want to be the fat one anymore, so I have just started doing pilates every morning, then going to the gym, running and swimming." >> In the space behind a record store in London this morning, Anna Wintour stopped by for a preview, and Peter Pilotto and design partner Christopher De Vos sent out their trademark watercolor prints atop sculptured and draped minidresses. The collection inspired quite the impulse gushing from Another Magazine ("Peter Pilotto — show of the week so far."), Vogue UK ("The Pilotto show has been one of our FAVOURITE shows yet") and Los Angeles Times's Booth Moore ("Peter Pilotto is next big thing out of London."). Wintour's bouncers were so energized by the show, they apparently almost knocked Suzy Menkes over as they rushed Anna out.
