>> The Sartorialist Book Out in Less Than a Month —Refinery29 created a handy dandy flow chart that made the rounds last week on how to get photographed by Scott "The Sartorialist" Schuman, but for those who have already been captured, you might have made it into the eponymous book Schuman has been working on since January, which is out Aug. 12 in two different versions — limited-edition bespoke or paperback, the latter featuring CITY fashion director Julie Ragolia on the cover. >> Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte became the first American designers to take home the 100,000 euro Swiss Textile Award last year, and the 2009 nominees are half American brands this time around: Thakoon Panichgul, Ohne Titel, Alexander Wang, Erdem, Alexis Mabille, and Peter Pilotto among them.

A winner will be announced Nov. 12, but in the meantime, Wang, who's been on an winning streak with the 2009 Swarovski Award for Womenswear and the 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award under his belt, recently spoke to Vogue about how he's gotten so far in such a short time.

He's known for his model selection now, but in the beginning, they came from Craigslist.

"In one of the first pictures we did, the model, who we found on Craigslist, was just wearing a sweater, slouching, and smoking a cigarette. People identified with her then, and she hasn’t changed much since.”

>> Anna Wintour to Host The September Issue Premiere —Although the status of her big annual bash remains up in the air for next year, Anna Wintour will be making a splash at the premiere of The September Issue. >> Victor Demarchelier, who first burst onto the scene as Caroline Trentini's boyfriend after putting in some time assisting his father Patrick, is starting to book some photography work for the big dogs — though it should be said that the clients work often with his father.  In the April 2009 issue of Vogue, he collaborated with Patrick on an editorial, and in the August 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, he scores his first solo two-page shot, highlighting the rising set of French models.

>> Matthias Vriens Marries, Alters Name —Former Giorgio Armani creative director and Gucci Group senior art director-turned photographer for the likes of Numero and New York Times Magazine, Matthias Vriens recently wedded fiance Donovan McGrath in Los Angeles.  The couple is changing their last names to Vriens-McGrath because Matthias is apparently appalled at the Proposition 8 decision made in California that makes his marriage illegal — he feels it important to make his nuptials public. >> Noot Seear Signed On for Two More Twilight Films —Noot Seear, who was cast to appear in New Moon (the second Twilight installment coming out this Fall) as Heidi, a member of the elite vampire group Volturi who entices human prey, has already signed up for two more movie installments in the series: “I started reading the books, and I couldn’t put them down.” For her first turn in the role, Seear had to wear heavy-duty violet contacts: “I literally couldn’t see 2 feet in front of me. They would tell me, ‘Look at Kristen [Stewart],’ and I was like, ‘OK. Where is she?’” She plans to move to Los Angeles later this year to focus on acting. [WWD]
