Louis Vuitton increases their pricing by 5% when Fall shopping gets underway. Having seen the back end of a boutique or two in our day, we know that this occurs. A lesson in markup: retailers take that measly little wholesale price and they multiply that be 2.25 (brands follow this rule, even if they aren't technically being sold anything). Now, take that basic markup and throw it out the window. The truth is, people will sell things for price at which they can be sold. You can multiply that by 2.25, 2.75, or 8 for all anyone cares.
