Itty Bitty Peek of Fall Valentino Campaign Has Appeared

>>  Earlier today we got a look at Isabeli Fontana in the Fall Cavalli campaign, and now we've got a small peek another one of her Fall works.  Introducing Alessandra Facchinetti's first Valentino ads, featuring Angela Lindvall along with Isabeli and shot by Peter Lindbergh in Paris.  I'm not sure why you would release an image if you're going to require it to be this small, but hey, something is always better than nothing, right?

The idea was to "emphasize Valentino's ties with Paris," according to Facchinetti, and the ads are presented in a "groupage," or a number of images photographed to run together and tell a story.  Expect a mix of color and black and white, studio and location shots, set to debut in July fashion issues — maybe we'll be able to make out what's going on in the pictures by then.

Karen Elson

Karen Elson Has Singing, Selling On Her Mind

>>  Just on the heels of the news that Irina Lazareanu's album is debuting this Fall and Nadja Auermann is working on a music career, Karen Elson revealed yesterday that she, too, is in the initial stages of recording a solo album.  Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's married to Jack White of The White Stripes.

Also on Karen's plate?  A vintage clothing boutique she's planning to open in Nashvile, where she resides.  The store has yet to be named, but she does have an idea about what is going inside: "I want to sell everything from vintage Kenny Valenti and rare Ossie Clarke to Valentino couture — but also cheaper vintage stuff to attract a wider audience."

So if you're ever in the neighborhood, stop by Belmont Boulevard for a likely Elson sighting.

The Womenswear Designer of the Year award will be presented by the trio of Victoria Beckham (representing nominee Marc Jacobs), Eva Mendes (for nominee Calvin Klein), and Maggie Gyllenhaal (fronting nominee Proenza Schouler).  Meanwhile, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are announcing the Accessory Designer of the Year, and Mandy Moore is doing the Swarovski Award honors.  Let's hope there still some models out there in the crowd for posterity . . .

Tush Magazine

I Want Cotton Candy

>> The best is when a stunning editorial comes from an unexpected place.
>> The best is when a stunning editorial comes from an unexpected place. Sure, everyone knows they can find something good in any given issue of Vogue Paris, but it's almost better when something under the radar pops up to get you.

This lovely piece, "Like Cotton Candy," comes from the second issue of Tush Magazine, photographed by Randall Bachner, styled by Bernat Buscato, and featuring Regina at Marilyn. The color scheme, gritty blur, and eye makeup are all satisfyingly sumptuous.

Alessandro Dell'Acqua

Alessandro Dell'Acqua To Take Over at Malo

>> Ch-ch-changes are in order at Malo.  Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi left the brand in April to become creative directors at Gianfranco Ferre — Malo and Ferre are both owned by IT Holding, so it's all in the family — and now their vacancy has been filled by one Alessandro Dell'Acqua.  Dell'Acqua's first collection for the Italian luxury knit company will be for the Spring 2009 season in September, and he will also continue to design his own eponymous collection.  Instead of showing Malo at New York Fashion Week, as Aquilano and Rimondi did, however, Dell'Acqua will present the line in Milan.
