>> Kate Moss is supposed to have her big announcement tomorrow, but she had a pretty big announcement today, too: Her eight sell-out collections have earned her another three years of designing for Topshop.
Sir Phillip Green, who earlier this year credited Topshop's record sales to the "Kate effect," reiterated his belief in Kate: "Having had two years experience, I am confident that Kate’s collection now has the potential to become a significant global brand within Topshop." Although he hasn't yet granted Kate's wish to do menswear, she will be expanding future collections into lingerie and accessories. Her next collection, for Spring 2009, will launch in March, to coincide with Topshop's New York grand opening.

>> INSIDER WIRE —Come February, the eternal who's-got-the-best-fashion-show-invites competition will hit full swing, but for now, it's all about the holiday card. Chanel sent a paper mobile with tiers reading "Chanel wishes you a Happy New Year" in a ten different languages, Manolo Blahnik created a holly shoe drawing just for the occasion, and Giles Deacon mastered the Swarovski-encrusted, Santa-hatted eyeball. Bill Blass Officially Closing
>> Bill Blass has been on its last breath for a while now, particularly since Peter Som departed due to the brand's financial constraints in October. Parent company Nexcen has been unable to sell the brand, and late last month, the brand was liquidated. Now, reports come that the company will close its showroom and the remaining staff will leave this week.
The company canceled its Spring 2009 collection due to a severe cash squeeze, and Som was never replaced; Nexcen, who is still trying to sell Bill Blass in hopes that the runway collection will be revitalized, is to the point of selling samples from the Bill Blass archives at discounts of 90 percent. A sad place for the iconic American brand, indeed — all we can hope for is that a buyer will come along and allow Blass to pull a Rochas.

>> INSIDER WIRE —Anna Wintour can hardly do anything under-the-radar these days, but she was able to host a private Vogue holiday party on Tuesday at the Oak Room. Though she is legendary for staying no longer than ten minutes at events, she "stayed for nearly the entire time," in conversation with publisher Tom Florio. Already, she's got another event lined up worth sticking around for — just before the Paris couture shows next month, Anna Wintour will be making a stop in Park City, Utah to watch the premiere of the Vogue documentary The September Issue at the Sundance Film Festival. Merry Christmas From Felder Felder
When we wake up in the morning we check what is on our Blackberry half-filled with dread that there will be two thousand "So-and-so wears such-and-such and last night's thing" emails waiting to be opened. This morning, we were pleasantly surprised to find a few less of those and one charming holiday card from the girls at Felder Felder. Cost-effective, humble, and personable we think this is a nice way for designers to spread the holiday spirit. Not to mention, the perfect opportunity for us to look back on their Spring 09 collection and anticipate what's next.
Check out our visit to the showroom to meet Felder Felder and the runway gallery of their Spring 2009 collection right here.
