It's Party Playsuit Time

There is but one night a year when it's common to see women in playsuits and five-inch heels, walking through the snow--New Year's Eve is a night when such concessions are made.

There is but one night a year when it's common to see women in playsuits and five-inch heels, walking through the snow--New Year's Eve is a night when such concessions are made. In anticipation, expect an influx of playsuits online and more frequent considerations from the press. Our sister site, Fabsugar UK has the London perspective on this crucial matter and, above, our three favorites for the big night. Pair these unexpected options with black opaque tights and tall black platforms and we guarantee you'll feel ready to ring in the new year.

J Crew

JCrew e-Commerce Down...Again

Why in the world can't a brand like a JCrew keep their website functioning properly is all we want to know.

Why in the world can't a brand like a JCrew keep their website functioning properly is all we want to know. We're not trying to be jerky safe-behind-our-laptop "bloggers" but c'mon, what's a girl got to do to give someone a little press these days? For two days (that's eighty million years in the real world) we've been trying to visit J.Crew's website to do one of two things: buy something and write about how other people should buy something. The first time we were blocked at the gates, we saw this, and the second, well, notice how there isn't any fashion in the picture to your left.

A brief history in J.Crew's e-commerce mishaps: in July the site went down for the better part of a month and J.Crew's biggest fan, J.Crew Aficionada, wasn't happy. Racked and Bloomberg both followed the story.

Fast forward to Holiday 2008, just weeks before we wrap up this sorry excuse for a fiscal quarter, and the site sinks again.

A message to J.Crew: throw some money at this thing and we promise we'll buy as many cable knits as it takes to make up for it!!!

Yves Saint Laurent

Fashion In 50 Seconds 12/10/08 Donna Karan Pre-Fall, YSL Sample Sale, Shoulder Pad Takeover, Los Angeles Retails

Donna Karan showed her pre-fall collection yesterday and she went ahead and called the thing 'transeasonal'.

Donna Karan showed her pre-fall collection yesterday and she went ahead and called the thing 'transeasonal'. Well, at least she's offered very sexy, elegant clothing else we might have poked a little fun.

Yves Saint Laurent for less than two hundred is basically grounds for a fashion seizure. Top the miracle off with a good deed and you've basically got us closing our laptop and crying for the rest of the day.

Shoulder pads are back thanks to Balmain, Lanvin, Balenciaga and every other brand name you love to toss around. The Observer gets wordy with it

We hate to admit this but every time we turn around there's a great boutique opening in Los Angeles. This new shop seals the deal for us
