Chanel Iman Self-Promotes on YouTube

>> Chanel Iman must have loved doing voice-overs during Fashion Week for her Style.com avatar, because in the past week, she's opened up a YouTube channel called "ChanelImanTV," "so you can get to know me a little better."  Five videos have been posted already, including one in which she gives her mom a makeover on the set of a photoshoot, one in which she pranks a friend with a fake mouse, and perhaps the most talked-about, a video monologue in which she comes off like a mini-diva in the making, below.

Agent Provocateur

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —Agent Provocateur has long gone with Kate Moss as its supermodel staple, but this time, Helena Christensen joins Alice Dellal in the brand's newest "Pirates" range.  Accompanying the campaign is a "Pirate Provocateur" video (NSFW), in which Pirate Queen Helena seduces the captain of a ship while her pirate princess posse — Dellal included — robs him blind.

It's over. Fashion designers don't understand that, or maybe they don't want to.
It's over. Fashion designers don't understand that, or maybe they don't want to. Long evening dresses with pearl and sequins — for who, for where, for what? I dare say I prefer Zara, H&M and Banana Republic. That's serving women and it's cheap.
Rodarte

Rodarte Lands At Presse Boutique

We've been so caught up with Spring 09 happenings and elections and holidays that we nearly missed our chance to report on the Rodarte Archive Sale on Presse Boutique.

We've been so caught up with Spring 09 happenings and elections and holidays that we nearly missed our chance to report on the Rodarte Archive Sale on Presse Boutique. If you remember, we reported that the online store was to release seven Rodarte items resurrected from previous seasons and, if you remember, that release date was this afternoon. So far (7:21pm EST), the studded gloves ($580) and mohair scarf ($375) have sold out but the rest are still up for grabs (granted, in limited sizes). We're not quite as blown away as we hoped we'd be--there's definitely some color missing, or some extraspecialwow-factor but, alas, Rodarte can do no wrong in our minds. Check out the gallery below for the seven archival pieces included in Presse Boutique's sale. They might not be available forever but you could call it another page in e-commerce history.

Anna Wintour

Happy 59th, Anna Wintour!

>> Despite all the cutbacks at Men's Vogue and Fashion Rocks last week, today Anna Wintour has reason to celebrate — it's her 59th birthday!  We're celebrating with a trip down memory lane; The gallery below is a collage of Anna Wintour in her early years as editor of Vogue, when her bob was darker, her skirts were shorter, she smiled more .

Donna Karan

>> ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL —There will be no campaign casting at Donna Karan.  For the sake of being economical, Donna Karan has decided to take her Spring 2009 runway photography and reinterpret the images for a new layout rather than shoot an entire new ad campaign: "We wanted to get our message across in a creative way but with a consciousness."  Look for the full result in February.

Kate Moss

Coutorture Community Must Reads 11/03/08

Now that we've all that costumery and rambunctiousness out of our systems, our Network Partners are getting serious and their posts are full of exciting fashion happenings... December is one of the only months we actually attempt magazine reading, thanks to the holiday travel, and today Fashionologie got us excited for the December edition of British Vogue which will count as Kate Moss's 26th cover for the magazine.  If you're carrying a Goyard tote, chances are you're happy to have your label showing in the first place.

If you're carrying a Goyard tote, chances are you're happy to have your label showing in the first place. M.I.S.S. Crew gave a shoutout to the newest limited edition offerings from the French company which will benefit cancer research at auction.

A new brand is on our radar thanks to Catwalk Queen. Tinc by Savannah Koop is minimalist brand from San Francisco with a particularly juicy backstory

Fashion Binge brings some humor to our Monday afternoon by criticizing Urban Outfitters owned Free People and their questionable sense of style. Hit or miss, we do agree.
