John Paul Gaultier To Replace Christian Lacroix For Evian

Fashion designers endorsing various lifestyle products and collaborating with other merchants is now commonplace--just check our Collab Mad tag for proof.

Fashion designers endorsing various lifestyle products and collaborating with other merchants is now commonplace--just check our Collab Mad tag for proof. That said, we're surprised to discover that the fanciest in the industry are teaming up with fashion's favorite diet food; water. Christian Lacroix designed an exclusive water bottle for Evian and, come 2009, the Gaultier version will be released. You won't catch a fashion woman with a Nalgene bottle so it only seems right to imagine that fashion is the best place to find "heavy users" who also care about the aesthetics.

Seoul Fashion Week: Kim See Yang Spring 2009

This collection is our favorite from today's shows by a landslide for the fact that it's appropriate for the office or a weekend with friends and that, really, is an important transition.

This collection is our favorite from today's shows by a landslide for the fact that it's appropriate for the office or a weekend with friends and that, really, is an important transition. The pumpkin colored blouse with shoulder detail and the slightly lighter, salmon colored trousers (left) had us at hello. A slighter more dressed up look had that same ability for transition, this time it was a mix of textures that kept things interchangeable. Monochromatic, easy to wear separates are endlessly salable if you ask us. One way to balance all of the luxe we're likely to indulge in (between our Halloween costumes, our holiday parties, and our latex leggings) is to keep part of your Fall and Spring shopping reserved for cool, calm clothes like these. Remember, everybody needs something to wear the day after

The Halloween Costume For The Recession-Minded and Trend Aware

If you're looking for a Halloween costume that is both economical, trend aware, historically relevant, and sexy to boot--we think we found the ultimate costume idea.

If you're looking for a Halloween costume that is both economical, trend aware, historically relevant, and sexy to boot--we think we found the ultimate costume idea. The flapper costume could cost you less than one hundred dollars and include fringe and feathers which have both been slated as big Fall and Spring 09 trends. Check out our Spring 09 trend report galleries, here and here for more evidence.

Seoul Fashion Week: Vack Yuun Zung Spring 2009

Seoul Fashion Week is giving us more of that one-sided hair style we love so much, making us huge, huge fans of theirs.

Seoul Fashion Week is giving us more of that one-sided hair style we love so much, making us huge, huge fans of theirs. The designer responsible was Vack Yuun Zung who showed clothing with a futuristic/early nineties flavor. Black latex pants might be easy enough for fashionistas to pull off but we're not so sure about white ones, as cool as they looked on the Vack Yuun Zung runway. Overall we're feeling good about all of the unknown (to us, at least) designers showing in various fashion weeks around the world. The truth is, Los Angeles really had us hurting...emotionally speaking. Be sure to check out the gallery below as well as our coverage of Toronto, Mexico, Lakme, and Los Angeles Fashion Weeks.

Shopping Spread: Silk Tanks In Earth Tones

There is nothing more fool-proof than a feminine silk tank in a wardrobe, and earth tones (although black is essential too) are the most useful.

There is nothing more fool-proof than a feminine silk tank in a wardrobe, and earth tones (although black is essential too) are the most useful. Pair these tanks with jeans, masculine trousers, leggings, or a high waisted skirt and you're good to go. Layer with sweaters, blazers, and cardigans in the winter, and, in the summer, let those bronzed shoulders show. The silk tank is a year-round investment.

Toronto Fashion Week: Joeffer Caoc Spring 2009

We're in a whirlwind of peripheral fashion weeks having just finished Los Angeles and Mexico, and started up on Lakme, Toronto, and Seoul--we think (it's too many to keep track of).

We're in a whirlwind of peripheral fashion weeks having just finished Los Angeles and Mexico, and started up on Lakme, Toronto, and Seoul--we think (it's too many to keep track of). This morning, upon closer inspection, the Joeffer Caoc Spring 09 show that was part of L'Oreal Toronto Fashion Week really stood out to us. A basic color palette let the designer play with different textures, in fact, it may have been influenced by Proenza Schouler (texture) or Calvin Klein (basic color) for this reason. These days, women are wearing their dress trousers extra large and their cocktail dresses short and luxe and Joeffer Caoc gave us those things. There were also some great monochromatic dresses with chiffon layers or silk components that we think ladies will be looking for come holiday party time.

The Head Wrap Barges On

Even though the Spring season often lends itself to more poolside ready accessories, we noticed a couple of head wraps in the Spring 09 shows.

Even though the Spring season often lends itself to more poolside ready accessories, we noticed a couple of head wraps in the Spring 09 shows. Lorick showed pretty headband options that looked glamourous with her cocktail frocks. Moschino showed one that veered towards bohemian as it was oversized and paired with tie dye. Catherine Holstein, who used them in most of her show, paired the knit wraps with all kinds of summer-ready outfits. The contrast, we think, made quite a statement.
