>> Over in London today, Richard Nicoll carried on the "Malibu palette" that got started in New York. Vivid pink and tangerine colorblocked their way through the parade, fading into muted shades of blue and gray. This collection seems like London's answer to Francisco Costa's Calvin Klein — Nicoll was inspired by nineties minimalism paired with fifties modernism, after all.

[Iekeliene] was mobbed by sweaty paparazzi, Japanese tourists, and this older guy who had a Ziploc bag of photos of her with hand-drawn hearts around her. >> Last Tuesday evening, Anna Wintour co-hosted Runway to Change, a fundraiser for Barack Obama that involved designers from Alexander Wang to Marc Jacobs contributing Obama-logoed tote bags, scarves, tees and the like to the cause.
It's too soon to tell whether the event was a success — but Andre Leon Talley did proudly tote his Obama 08 Love Bag by Diane von Furstenberg around Fashion Week last week. Look for the flame-haired model on the front of Playboy France, holding a teddy bear and wearing nothing but a pair of white socks. Louise Goldin Looks to the Future for Spring 2009

For her third runway collection, that's just what Louise Goldin did — she knits everything, even high-tech yarns like monofilaments and fiber optics. With that techie inclination in mind, it's no surprise that her Spring 2009 collection veered to the futuristic and was the result of hours spent in scientific libraries.
