>> THE MODELIZER —Agyness Deyn's famed haircut launched a thousand haircuts — which is probably why she switched it up recently. Now, her new 'do is apparently catching on — and you only have to look as far as her new-ish personal assistant for evidence. [ONTD_FF, Models.com]
Rest Easy: London Fashion Week Is Still Okay
>> Thank goodness, in this time of economic woe, the four fashion capitals could find it within themselves to reach a "peace agreement."
London Fashion Week — which over the years had brought us Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, and Gareth Pugh — was in danger of being squeezed into three days. But no more — after a "summit" today in London, New York will move its Fashion Week a week back like it wanted (to avoid the Labor Day holiday), and London Fashion Week will have five days rather than the six it currently has . . . starting in September 2009. As for the more imminent February 2009 shows, those seem to be under less contention, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the "finer details of the deal" fall into place.

>> INSIDER WIRE —During New York Fashion Week, everyone depends on The Daily to shorten the between-show wait time. Now, London Fashion Week has launched a Daily of it's own — and it's downloadable, so you can get the scoop and see those pig-shaped meringues from Luella everyone was talking about — just like the front row. Christopher Kane Goes Ape for Spring 2009
>> Christopher Kane is never one to shy away from pushing the envelope — not even when it involves putting a gaping screenprinted image of a gorilla down the runway — his Spring 2009 collection is inspired by Planet of the Apes (and The Flinestones and Raquel Welch), after all. The circular theme he had going on with all the paillettes in his Fall 2008 collection carried over, this time in the form of layers and layers of chiffon semicircles. In some pieces it was beautiful, in other pieces, a little editing would have gone far — and as for all the marabou, well, we'll just ignore that.

>> INSIDER WIRE — Alexander Wang likes his grungy girls — but perhaps it's best Erin Wasson isn't so publicly associated with his brand any more, now that she's waxing philosophic on homeless people style. Besides, he's got Alice Dellal. She flew into New York especially for his show last week, and now Dan Martensen has filmed her in A. Wang, painting the town black. [COACD]
London Launches British Fashion Fund
>> Although London Fashion Week is at risk of being squeezed out by New York and Milan next season — Diane von Furstenberg is in town to discuss the matter — Harold Tillman, chairmain of the British Fashion Council, had a more positive announcement to make last night.
Britain's largest-ever emerging talent fashion fund — modeled after the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund — is being launched, with backing from Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and Erin O'Connor, who is vice-chairman of London Fashion Week. The first awards will be given out next year — and considering the forward-thinking talent pool that comes out of London, I can't wait.

>> THE MODELIZER —When the last episode of Model.Live left off, it seemed like Cato van Ee might miss her flight to London. She ended up making it, but as for Madeline Kragh? Not so much. It's not that Madeline missed her flight — she just wasn't allowed entry through immigration, even though she had working papers — so now she's back in New York, biding her time until Milan.
