no kate for topshop for you!

>> Unless Topshop fixes their site in the next three hours, of course.  The Topshop site is currently down, and the Kate Moss for Topshop stock is supposed to debut online in approximately three hours (11:30 pm EST).  Topshop better get on it, because hell hath no fury like a Kate Moss fan scorned.

Kate_topshop_shoeUPDATE:  I knew Topshop knew better than to have their bandwidth spent before the Kate collection bows -- the site is back up and running, with just over an hour to spare.

UPDATE 2:  Go go go! (It's up!)

UPDATE 3:  It's all sold out.  Look ye forth to the Barney's sale of the line on May 9,  or you can wait for Topshop -- the site says it will update every week.

UPDATE 4 (10 am EST):  Looks like they restocked some items on the Topshop website.

oh, the row

>>  Some pictures from The Row have finally popped up for your viewing pleasure.  The collection looks nice overall, but with the prices the pieces are carrying ($3,220 Tuscan lamb-fur coats, $1,700 cashmere tuxedo jackets with three-quarter sleeves, $875 banded strapless dresses, $360 legging-style pants, according to WWD), I wish I could see the so-called tailoring that Mary Kate and Ashley keep touting as their key selling point a little bit better in the photos.

But maybe it's just more about the exclusivity after all -- that you can afford to pay hundreds of dollars for a sheer t-shirt, and will.  Not because the shirt is that much different or tailored any better than an American Apparel tee.   It could explain why Mary Kate and Ashley been working so hard to keep all the details about this line so hush-hush, and why journalists weren't allowed at the collection preview in Paris earlier this year.  Well, I'll let you decide for yourself after you've had a look.

max it out

>> It's been itching at me the past two seasons, but I've managed to stifle it.  Until now.  I've got the urge to buy a long, flowy, hit the ground, can't-see-your-shoes-even-when-you-walk, maxi dress.  And apparently I'm not alone.  J.

Crew, of all places, has a great option.  They made a reference to Talitha Getty, early muse to YSL, in the dress' description, so that didn't help but reel me in.  I love the shape of the bodice and the patchwork pattern reminds me of Marrakech.  It also comes in a great shade of coral (or white, which is not as much fun).

fresh off the rumor mill

>>  Hedi Slimane just bounced from Dior, is Galliano next?  Page Six says: Fashionistas are already guessing when Dior will cut loose Galliano, whose tenure at the once-esteemed house lately has been tenuous at best.Remember, this is coming from Page Six, and Galliano had a great season last time I checked, so I'm not sure where the "once-esteemed" part is coming from.  But maybe they know something I don't know...

anja and freja and shalom, oh my!

>>  Anja Rubik recently spilled the beans on the cast of the Fall 2007 Chloe ad campaign by posting this photo on her website with the caption "Shooting Chloe in Paris."  I can definitely see these girls rocking Paulo Melim Andersson's Doc Marten-inspired platform boots, can't you?

As a side note, don't you love Anja's new Edie bob?  It makes me want to chop my own hair off -- scary thought, considering I have been a staunch long hair fan my entire life.

nothing groundbreaking

>>  But Coco, Chanel, Caroline, Stam, Hilary, and Pat Schmid did a segment on The Today Show this morning (no talking, just walking) that I thought you might want to have a look at.  Because Ann Curry looks completely unprepared for the segment, makes innocuous comments, and Stam holds back giggles.  UPDATE:  If the video gets taken down from YouTube again, you can still watch it here.

the muse correlation

>>  Does having cool art above your bed indicate fashion muse potential?  Edie Sedgwick's famous Vogue picture made me want to scrawl a horse above my bed and now Denise Poiret (wife and muse to Paul Poiret) makes me  want to paint outlines of female nudes.
