>> That Manolo, he just has to stand apart from the crowd. Always. He tells Andre Leon Talley in the June issue of Vogue, "Frankly, I deplore the current craze for platforms!" His alternative? His new "heelless shoe," the Arunium ($3,145), which has metal studs inspired by medieval churches. And it is beautiful, I'll give him that.

>> A Tuscan palace on top of a ring, by Philippe Tournaire. This is pretty much the coolest ring I think I've ever seen. It's got gold, it's got diamonds... anyone need an engagement ring?
>> The more and more I think about it, the more and more it Gucci's disco-inspired fall collection is growing on me. Wearing lots of gold lame just sounds like fun, and I've always had a predilection towards afros (they're so cool looking!). So of course I'm excited to see the fall ads, which are supposed to have Iselin Steiro and Snejana Onopka shot by Craig McDean in blonde Cleopatra-inspired wigs and spike-heeled platforms, living up the nightlife and looking like party animals. Again, sounds like fun. Can't wait for this one!
>> After seeing how well behaving badly did for Kate, it seems like a string of models are giving the same trick a try... sadly, it doesn't seem to have worked out quite as well.
>> I was taking a look the other day at the spring Jovovich-Hawk collection, and some of the dresses definitely live up to the hype the label has been getting. But more than the dresses themselves was the styling that interested me -- it gave me some good ideas.
I've been looking for a good pinafore dress for a while now, but maybe I should just get a cute pinafore apron instead -- it gives the same ruffly affect that I'm looking for. The middle dress is my favorite dress of the collection, I love both the sash and the bustline and the gathered ribbon at the bottom of the tube dress. The latter would be harder to do, but I definitely will have to try the big sash at the bustline. And finally, jumper dresses are a new favorite of mine -- I like how the simple cotton dress peeks out below with a jagged hemline. Makes it a little less schoolgirly.
