>> One of the new Marc Jacobs ads has finally appeared! I've always been kind of so-so about Juergen Teller's ads for MJ, but I really loved the ones the did for last fall with Kirsten MacMenamy -- especially the freaky-cool ones with her pale hair over her face and big dark sunglasses. But I digress. I can't say that I like this one with Meg White nearly as much, but I've always had a thing for bare tree silhouettes... so plus five for the background. But she looks so uncomfortable and unhappy... not sure that's what you want to sell a dress.

Curse that Marc Jacobs for getting you into this pretty pickle...
a rose is a rose is a rose
>> Lela Rose is more or less new blood -- she's only shown for a few seasons now -- but it finally looks like she's starting to mature. Her shapes and ivory color palette without doubt pay homage to Balenciaga, but the product is still very pretty and feminine. Although there are many looks I could see myself wearing from this collection, I think the one on the right is my favorite -- I love the the balancing of the minidress with the Victorian high-neck. And the poetic bell-shaped sleeves counteract the military olive green of the dress.

an influx of vogues

>> How about blah with a twist of blah to start off your day? The March (Natalie Portman) and April (Jen Aniston) 2006 US Vogue covers are debuting at the same time, apparently. And it looks like our loquacious young Vogue "intern" is one for three so far...
